I'm just building a little niche site that will be an amazon affiliate.

Was just wondering what people's thoughts were on using wix.

It's so simple to use and setup I can't see any reason to use something else.
I'm planning on building several niche sites so I just want something reasonably priced and fast to set up.

    If not wix, who else?

Worpress has more and better plugins . Wix is WAY easier to edit . Wordpress can be really annoying if you are not used to it.

    The url's are weird - http://www.urbanhikersf.com/#!custom/c20nd
I doubt that would be good for SEO even though wix claims otherwise.

What's the learning curve like on wordpress, I can code but I've never used wordpress.

I've never used Wix, but I'd say the wordpress learning curve is little to none.

Some simple tasks are a lot more complicated than they need to be and may be tricky to figure out, but other than that it's pretty straight forward.

I use wordpress because it's been proven to work, looks good, easy to use, and free.

Wix is the easiest web site builder tool and it is available for free as long as you want. However, if you want an advance feature (like your own domain name, prompt support, etc), then you have to choose their premium plans. Apart from Wix there are many other free website builder tools like Webs, Jimdo, Angel Fire, Squarespace etc. And if you spend few bugs they will give you the option to customize the Website and 24X7 support too.

Wordpress it also a good option, since it gives you more features. However, if you are not friendly with Wordpress. I suggest you to look for any online website tool.
