With the update, not only small sites but also large sites lost huge traffic.

they'll probably start buying google ads now, which is what google want anyway. It's all part of the plan :D

At this stage in their career, I don't even see why they'd need or push for that. Anyone in a high executive position at Google has an obscene amount of money.

The owner has roughly $100B at his disposal.

are we talking about the same things? Because I was talking about the 2 medical sites shown in those screenshots...

Whose career are you talking about??

You mentioned “which is what Google wants anyways”, my contention was questioning why they’d be vying for that when they’re valued at just under $1T.

Unbelievable, so if Google doesn't favor them that much like before, who replaces those spots then?

because they love money?

Obviously but what I’m saying is at this point, there isn’t a point. They have the 4th most profitable company on the planet. That’s it, they won the money game already.

not wanting to insult or upset you in any way, but you either don't understand how the mentality of rich people works (more is always better), or you don't want to admit it.

Regardless, we'll have to agree to disagree, as it's obvious that we're having our own (divergent) opinions, which is fine :)

Cheers!

Admit what? I think this goes beyond "rich". I'm not talking about standardly rich people. What they have, what Google has, is obscene wealth.

I don't think you understand where I'm coming from. You can't break any more records. What else would they need that $100B could not solve?? That's my entire point.

First thing that came in my mind. Evil but that is how large companies survive these days. Everyone is cutting a piece of other guy to fulfill own needs.

I think if you put the number in full formation it'll make more sense to him.
100,000,000,000
Prospectively, that number can hold the number 1,000,000 a total of 100,000 times. Here's what 1,000,000 x 100 looks like.

I'm just saying that it's a lot more than "rich". That is a gross amount of wealth. He'll never need more than say 45B of that. Which means that Page (one of the owners of Google) would generally have $60B of unused wealth.

you guys... no comment!

For reference, I've bragged quite a few times on this forum how 5000 EUROS a month would be enough money for me to live happily here in Romania. I never aspired to be a millionaire, nor do I want to (too many enemies and stress to worry about that money), so I'm not the right person to be accused for not knowing how numbers work because I'm happy with little anyway.

PHPInjected.... you can't break any more records as a simple man, but obscenely wealthy people are not simple men, not in mentality, nor in humanism. That's why I said that their motto in life is "more (money) is always better, all of it is the best". Rich people don't think like normal guys, man, otherwise they wouldn't be where they are...

Besides, google is not one man only, it's a company and companies exist to turn profits.... again, the more the better. For companies there's no limit to how much they want to make, and google is no exception. Besides, they've been forcing people into Adwords for several years already, I don't know why you refuse to admit this, or choose to argue over this truth with me. I only stated the facts that this maneuver (of cutting the traffic of big sites) is meant to push them towards buying ads. How is this untrue?

Larry Page & Sergey Brim own Google. They created it. Both of them have $100B net worth, each. Google, the company they own and sit on the board for is worth above $1T.

I'm not arguing that it's not true. I'm just saying that at THAT level, there's no point in forcing or even caring if people spend $50 in adwords any more. I think it might you who doesn't understand just how much money we're talking and what it means.

You're not actually saying much.

This is how it's going:

Me: Whats the point in squabbling over profits like that at their stage?

You: Don't you understand it's different when you're rich.

Me: That's not the point, my point is that level of rich is unattainable, so I just don't see the point.

You: Google is a company that has no profit cap and wants to earn forever.

That isn't a response to my comments. I get they're a company and their goal is profit. It really goes without saying. At THEIR LEVEL, I assume they have different goals. I just don't understand what they'd be considering they have a company valued at literally $1 trillion.
