    Hello guys,

As I just wrote in the introduction part of the forum, I am new here and really excited to create my first thread and get some answers.

After a few years (from 2009 to 2015) working in offices as an employee in the Online Casinos business, I have decided to try my way as a Digital Nomad / Freelancer starting in early 2016. I was living in Colombia for 6 months but came back to Belgium for VISA reasons for 2 months. I will go to Brazil in August and start living there for some time.

Even though I know nothing is easy, I would like, knowing my abilities, to get some answers/idea about ''how to make 1000USD a month'' with the internet.

What have I been doing so far as a Freelancer:

Lucky enough to have a lot of contacts in the Online Poker world:
    - I was writing news, every day of the week, for 8 months for a big French Poker Affiliation website. Was making around 800USD with this a month, working around 10 hours a week. I had to upload the news, write something @ Facebook/Twitter as well. Unfortunately, the owner decided to stop the website, he is not making enough money with it...
    - I have been doing translations from English to French for a big Translations company specialized in Casinos/Poker/Sportsbook/etc. No fix $$$ at all. Can be good money sometime, can be literally zero other months.
    - I have created myself (with Wordpress) 3 websites/blogs about football (soccer for some of you). Not much success but I do have a good basic understanding of Wordpress/websites creation.
    - I have been doing some creative copywriting for an Online Casino website, focusing on SEO.

With my job as a poker online-journalist stopping, I am out of any fix wage. I don't need to make a lot of money but I am looking into new opportunities, that I want to create on my own.
Even though I was ''only'' making around 1000 USD a month, it was really fine because I had to work only between 10 and 15 hours a week and in countries like Colombia, this is clearly enough to have a good quality of living. Also, I have around 10KUSD saved, so I am not going to be broke that soon.
Ideally, I would like to be working no more than 3/4 hours a day. (I know how this sound and I am ok to work much more in the start of any projects, if needed, but for no more than a few weeks)

Knowing that I can speak/read English/French/Spanish, that I have a good understanding about SEO, that I understand/use most social networks, that I do have a big understanding (and have worked 5 years as a Manager, not just as some random Client Support employee) of the iGaming worlds and markets (Casino/Poker/Sportsbook) and Affiliates worlds, what ideas would you recommend me to look into to make (at least) 1000$ a month using the internet?

Lately, I have been VERY interested about the Youtube (with adsense) ways to make money, could that be ''one'' ? I am fascinated by some people making around 500K views a day while... playing video games for example. But I understand there are tons of ''less legit'' ways to make money out of Youtube, creating ''acceptable'' videos with trendy keywords for example. I have been in contact as well with the ''Fake profiles creation'' for big Dating websites which seemed interesting but very random and boring. I am completely open to the ''porn worlds'' as I know a lot of money is there.

And well, I guess there are still SO MUCH ways to make money that I don't realize. I hope my thread doesn't sound stupid or something and that some of you can give me some good ideas.

    Thanks

Looks like this will disappear in the ''hell'' of the forum. Just trying a single ''up'' and will accept my faith if no replies come. I realize my question is a bit ... hard to answer I guess.
And reading a bit of everywhere in the forum, I am certainly already learning. Cheers

With your knowledge of online poker and gambling, why haven't you signed up as an affiliate and started some Poker/Betting affiliate sites?

That is actually a good question. When I was working in a big Online Casino Company, I could see what kind of money some affiliates make with us and it was sometime really impressive, indeed.
But, as far as I know, this is a VERY, if not the most competitive affiliate market. Most Poker Affiliates are closing lately, making just 0$ .... That is the case of the Poker News Affiliate I was working for, for example.. :/

I hoped to get some traffic in one of the Football (Soccer) websites I have created and monetize it with Sportsbook affiliates links but it didn't work out. Very competitive as well, even if ''only'' in the smaller (than English) french speaking market.

Took us years of working the forums and breaking stories to start ranking for anything worthwhile in the online poker industry. It's a tough business to get into.

Links on HuffPo and LH would be a great start! I was excited for a second and then saw that you don't accept "gambling sites" and I assume that a poker affiliate/news site would fall under gambling :(

I've never written this out before, so this will be free-form thought on how we got to where we are:

In the online poker market, we had to pick a niche and run with it. In the beginning we created a lot of original content aimed squarely at professional players. This was easy for me because I am a professional online poker player. It's difficult to work that content into forums, because the biggest poker forums are very anti-spam. But over time, our content was posted and I, as a forum junky, could join in those discussions and help gain reputation in the industry. My results as a player helped as well.

I personally formed relationships with the online poker companies that we wanted to work with, providing them opinions, insight, help with anything and everything I could. I then got on airplanes and met them in person at affiliate conferences to further those relationships. This type of relationship building got us a number of news scoops that our competitors weren't privy to. When our little site scooped the big poker news sites, we got 100% natural backlinks as a source.

After a few years of doing all of this, Google started to notice. And suddenly we began ranking for some money terms that attracted recreational players. At first I didn't care because their individual value is crap compared to pro players. However, once I realized that our poker partners liked this additional traffic, we began cultivating it. Then we got a whale, and another whale, and then we really began working a two pronged approach. Some content for the hardcore, and other content for the recreational fish.

We're now a very balanced affiliate who sends winning and losing traffic.

And now I'm here because I want more rec players and I need ideas on how to improve our website :)

(You sure online poker can't somehow be worked into a HuffPo article? I know one of my competitors has links from there, he advertises "as seen in HuffPo" on his site... as well as The Times, SanFran Chronicle, Bloomberg, Forbes, Digital Journal, and Business Insider. I'm quite jealous!)

It so easy to earn cash out of the gambling industry online as a afflict.

You just got to think out the box ,and keep up with trends and keep posting where ever new trend's go.

The best part is social media is a massive start ,getting real money after gaining followers.

The best part about gambling is most ppl get very hooked ,so the earnings can really add up fast online.

and you seem to get even more players once you strat giving coupons away or free games to play.

Like i say ,the more new places you place adds ,the better and more cash you gain ...

Socail media seems to be the winner....

Gambling websites are hard to get going , but so is any website these days , just takes serous keyword study and grate articles and shit load of good 2.0 back links.

Anythink posable online , you got to study it very closly then becomes easy or easer ...

I'm also starting in the gambling affiliate market. Slow going at the moment!
