Don't customers get annoyed? I know I do. It makes me even more determined to just go to a well known online retailer and buy what I'm looking for there. Thoughts?

And...I can type a keyword into ebay just the same, a BANS site would save me maybe 10 seconds by giving me what Im looking for all at once instead of having to type my keyword into ebay. I know they are good money makers, but I'm just not sure how long lived they will be

That's why you stuff their ass with a cookie, so the whole BANS/phpbay store is basically a front.

But I actually get natural conversion on my sites as well, i guess once people show up they just get sucked in and buy.

    Shortest distance between 2 points...

Im not debating it from a BH POV, it's good money and I'll gladly make it, but speaking as a consumer its kind of a pain in the ass when doing a google search if the item im looking for isnt readily available.

That's why it's a short term business model. People would really be better off attempting to actually build a business and middle man products. Either that, or if they really have "skills" they should become a consultant. There is great money in that too.

With BANS and similar shop scripts, the idea should be to build relevant content along with the product listings so that the site starts coming up in search results. The real problem is that a lot of people simply install these scripts as is and hope for the money to pour in which is not gonna happen!

The debate on the usefulness of BANS is undisputed. However the script has flaws and honestly i'm ready to graduate to complete customized affiliate css pages with multiple rss feeds, not just ebays...

I realize that can be coded into bans, but fuck it, no need for that kind of db and overhead when you can do it yourself more efficiently. Anyway i think the magic is in the customization of it, and if you can deliver to the customer exactly what they want in a better way you are going to see the sale. That is the whitehat perspective, and i feel gayer by just talking about it. :p

I try to give my bans sites added value by adding articles specific to the niche. Also, if someone is looking for a specific item, sometimes they don't think to go to eBay until they find my site in the SERPs.

My niches are extremely specific, and I'm starting to make some money on them. It takes me less than 3 hours to set one up, make it pretty, add articles, and optimize it to the hilt. After that anything it makes is gravy.

A lot of my BANS sites are doing pretty well. I have a wide variety of items on my niche sites, so a lot of my traffic is coming from the SE's. The issue with eBay is not everyone is into it. They don't realize that eBay has so much crap on it.

So, when my sites are targeting longtail keywords for items that are searched on Google everyday, and there is plenty of those items on eBay, it just takes a little promotion to get ranked and then the traffic starts showing up.

As for it being a short term issue, I can see a certain concern with that due to "market saturation" possibly, but I think it is a viable option, at least for now.

BANS is perfect for autopilot income, once you get organic traffic.
In fact even PPC traffic converts well. I have several BANS sites (over 20) and although 75% barely convert at all, the remaining 25% do big numbers each week.

If you have domains sitting idle, and an unlimited domain hosting account, grab some BANS templates, pick a niche, load the page with Adsense and other PPC ads and do promotion like you would for any other site.

If you pick a good niche and you site looks at least semi-professional, the money will come.

Although I must admit that BANS money is nothing compared to AOM money if you know what you are doing...
