Yep, just a special deal going on right now.. I bought it via a special for $70 about a year ago. If you go to their regular site
    Code:
    hxxp://www.microsoft.com/windows/buy/default.aspx
it's $199.99 for the pro version.

Hope this saves someone some money.

Not quite the good savings as you yanks but us Brits that have a child/children in education can also pick this up for £38.

However it should be noted that they are OEM and meant for upgrading and existing O.S.

Easily bypassed though in the installation screen ;)

It's funny how in the US the same product is $29.99 whereas in the UK it's £70.99 which is much more...

Whats even more funny is that this is a black hat forum and MOST people will downloaded and use a crack or activation to get it free. But Thank you anyways

MS has many free offers for students, some are for things that normally cost $1000s. Not many OSes (currently only server 2003 & 2008) but the benefit of using a legally owned porgramming package like VisualStudio Pro(~$500) is that you can create apps in many languages and own them forever or sell them anywhere and for whatever price you want without any royalties or other costs.

Their program (for most college students worldwide): http://www.dreamspark.com/default.aspx
