    Hello BHW,

For a Long tail keyword, the competition is easy. I would like to know whether it is profitable in any way to use keywords with decent - high search volume but zero CPC?

I checked the keyword in different paid tools.

Is this a good method or not. I’m not gonna use this kind of keywords for all post. Maybe 1 or 2 posts per month.

If you say NO, what if the keyword can bring traffic?

    My revenue stream is AdSense.

    Thanks

If the Keyword is relevant and it brings traffic, then why not?
It might help the website indirectly, if not commercially.

If you can monetize it in other ways than AdSense, sure, go for it.

You could probably build a news latter email list if nothing else.

really a great question, i feel happy to answer this according to my knowledge, if you find a long tail keyword which is not hard to rank and you easily rank it, now you get traffic for that keyword but in start you are getting no money to rank that keyword, don't worry about it, like the keyword competition change time to time, also the advertiser competition changes as well, so if you will not get any cent for ranking that keyword in first month, may be next month an advertiser came and bid on that keyword and now you will get paid by google for that keyword and it's not important that you will not get any cent for that first month to rank your keyword, i am sure if your long tail keyword rank may be you will be rank for short tail keywords and that short tail keyword will earn you some money. so in both cases it's really good for you. seo is a name of practice and practice makes a men perfect so it's not bad to write some 2 to 5 articles per month on such type of long tail keywords with no cpc.

Just because a keyword has no value to Google for Adsense purposes, doesn't mean it has no value for other monetization purposes. If it's a strong buying keyword for affiliate or CPA, use it. If you are using the CPC value as a guide for having other non-Adsense CPC alternatives on your site, then it does become more relevant, because Google is giving you the most clues as to what keywords are valuable for CPC programs. If the keyword is helpful for Adsense, it should be for other CPC monetization. as well.

Thank you for your detailed answer. I used the long tail keyword and published the post. I mixed a relative profitable keyword inside content to support the article interms of cpc.

Yes, because Adsense is the only way to monetize traffic and you should chase high CPC keywords only.

You can also not dictate the user behavior on your site, so there's no way to bring users to the page with higher CPC.

Traffic also does not bring organic backlinks that benefit entire site anyway so why bother.

As long as it brings traffic - use it.
I wouldn't even waste time targeting keywords with specific CPC with AdSense - it will never be true.
If AdSense won't pay for this clicks - another network will.
