    Hello,

I want to change all the urls of my website. I now use /archives/postname

I want to change this in ....../postname where ...... is my changed word.

Is this possible to do without dropping rankings? As I have some posts ranking on the first page and i dont want to lose those rankings :p

I'm 98% sure this will cause a drop in rankings. But there's still that 2% uncertainty.
If I were you, I wouldn't change the URL is its a well known blog with good rankings.

Create a 301 redirect from the old URL to the new URL. Immediately ping each individual old URL so Google will see the old post is now located at the new URL. Serps will decrease temporarily.

Most link juice will work through the 301.

    you will drop ranking
your backlinks that target those pages will be seen to target a page that redirects, google spider throws an error at the 301 redirect, google sees errors in crawled pages, drops rank
