Alright so I am not much of a computer tech and I am about to pack up my stuff which I most prizely posses such as my computer, bed, night stand, and clothes for the move to my new job. Anyways my computer is hard wired into the network out my current house and I am going to be needing internet down in Charleston.

My dad currently has the Verizon internet connection piece which gives him the capability of having internet on his laptop. Now my mom has a linksys wireless router that has a cord that plugs into her USB and it allows his internet connection to work on hers.

I am looking to purchase this linksys wireless-g adapter from eBay and want to know if it would work on a 2006 HP Pavilion a1630n.

Yeah that should work fine if you have a laptop or desktop unit that doesn't already have wireless built into it and you have access to a wireless connection. It's a pretty standard unit.

Check if your mom's router is a g, g+, or n router (that's in order from slowest to fastest). If she has a n router, you'd want a n adapter if you can afford it. G will work for any modern adapter, but N would be faster if that's the type of router she has.

She probably just has a g, though.

*EDIT: I just reread the title telling the specific router lol. Yes, that'll work for it just fine.
