I am doing some reputation management work for a client, and I am thinking about spamming a site with negative reviews for my client with profile links.

They are ranked number 5 in the search engines now for the client name. The site is the forum topix.com, and there is a long thread there with a lot of posts complaining about the company.

If I use software like Xrumer or SENuke X to spam hundreds or thousands of profile links to this webpage, and then I ping all the links right away, do you think that will make the page drop from the SERPS?

Would this work for sites like Ripoffreport too?

You're looking to spam a site with links that ranks #5 and you want to get rid of that result?

Rank 5 more above them and push him to teens. Spamming their site in order to push them down in the SERPs could just as easily backfire and make them #1.

very risky business.... if the site is older and well established with lots of good (domain) backlinks.. than spamming it will probably only make it stronger..

but you were saying you do reputation management? don't make this a SEO job then and manage that reputation! (go into the forums and defuse the discussion.. fix the problems.. etc. )

Thats not reputation management is it?
Offer the guy who made the post a great deal on this forum and voila, reputation management done.

I have done this for someone successfully in the past, but I was just wondering if there might be an easier way to get rid of this negative forum thread. Obviously there is a lot more work involved with bumping up the other search results as opposed to getting rid of the #5 result.

I know it is risky to try to spam the negative thread out of the search results, and that's why I wanted to see if anyone else had tried this before with success.

I would prefer to try to get the thrad down, if it is not possible

build some freeblogs targeted on that specific keyword and rank them first, second third etc to outrank the thread

you can use comment links to bring them up in the serps.

This is exactly what I will do. Once anyother thread is up , this one will automatically vanish 99% for sure. In 1% cases it will sit just below the good reputational thread.

I am just looking for a shortcut to get this negative listing down the page.

It takes a lot of link building work to push a bunch of other websites above another a high ranking site.

Last Christmas, I had a Christmas website where I built roughly 200 forum profile links, and then I instantly pinged all of them. The site fell from the 1st page of Google and out of the Top 100 search engine results. Oops.

My site was definitely not an authority site. It is only about 10 pages.

Obviously the topix.com site is an authority site, so I wasn't sure if spamming the negative thread would produce the same results.

Honestly email the whois email address, and then send them an email offering them 100 bucks to add a line to their robots.txt:
    Code:
    User-agent:*
    Disallow: forum url here

No more robots crawling it = No longer ranking in a few days.

I remember this being discussed here a while back. Where a forum post was ranking high for the clients search term.

This method I believed was registering on that site and posting nude/hate images in the same thread to get the link deindexed by google.
Either it was to get it deindexed in google or the thread deleted on the forum

I dont know if that was exactly it, but it was something along the lines of that
