Hi,

I'm gonna use an example

Let's say I own a regular house cleaning business. No nudity, or anything; just straight forward house cleaning.

I see the search term for "nude maid service" is about 5k searches a month (3k more volume than regular house cleaning service terms lol)

Now, if I were to do a blog post about "hiring a nude maid service" and just talk in depth about it as a blog posts, then hit the blog post with some PBNS and get it ranking.

Will this help my site with authority or do the complete opposite?

Obviously, I don't offer the service. So short-term and long term what could be the possible outcome?

I think the big problem in this story is the type of links you should be aiming for. Eventually, this goes into the "Adult" category, so, if you want to compete for that keyword you may start sending links from this type of topic mostly (and your PBN should revolve around this). As @TomTheCat already suggested it will also be a very competed market, so you will have to invest a lot in this category.

If you succeed your domain may end targeted by Google as an Adult site... and this won't do any good for your other category rankings.

I think that is a bad idea if you are not offering that service. You could just write that article, and maybe rank for some long keyword, but just as an informative topic. Don't link build on it.

What is wrong with people today? :D OP don't screw your business.

I'm still new to blogging, but everyone seems to say blogging does help bring traffic to your site, which gives you authority.

Which is why I was asking this question..

However, if I were to do blog posts about "best pizza in nyc" or "best restaurants in nyc" would that be the same thing as doing "hiring a nude maid service?"

I'm just trying to be a bit creative with this to drive traffic to give my site more authority

Be sure you answer the phone on Saturday nights!

A lot of customers want a clean up at that time! :D

I guess it won't make any difference for your business. After all, you are unable to provide this service, and your potential visitors are not really looking for regular house cleaning service.

This.
What do you think this will do to your metric? conversion rates? Time on site?? Pages per visit??? Everything will drop. Not to mention a waste of link juice. As far as rankings go you'll be stuck in limbo esp getting caught up in adult niche. Might even appear spammy.

Yes, as I said you may write about this, and eventually you may end ranking some longtail keywords for that weird article. But just don't do link building.

Some people think that is not worth ranking for keywords you are not being able to satisfy. These are useless visits, and if you are realistic, imagine that you write an awesome article that is linked from a lot of pages that actually offer that service naturally (which is unlikely, but possible). Then you will end with the same situ: a lot of incoming links from adult sites

It's completely weird. Also, imagine that any of your "serious" clients, ends up reading this shit article... and asks for the service :p

OR, you could try it, and show us your results here in some months. Maybe you will end with a success story of how you switched your business to a more profitable one :D
