Being new to web development, i've been learning as much as I can to apply it to IM. I made this pretty cool site that streams music. I feel like a content locker would fit nicely. I'm just not sure if any ad companies will accept me and if they do, if this is worth the risk of being sued? I feel like a content locker would fit nicely.

Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks

    Nice simple site.

Make sure to go with an offshore hosting, that way you don't have to worry about any legal matters. I wouldn't put a content locker on it right away though, I would make sure you have a solid audience base first.

Putting copyrighted music behind a content locker is equivalent to selling pirated discs. Not a very smart idea. Of course, it all depends on where you live. If you live in the US you'll be pretty much fucked. If you live in a log cabin high up in some mountains in Iran you'll probably be able to share/sale/lock every single movie/song out there without having to fear repercussions.

Would I put music behind a content locker? No. Should you? I don't know. Weigh the risks and decide.

i agree with qwicksilver. you need a strong audience base as you will be losing visitors due to content locking. you need to think of various ways to engage your visitors in ways your competitors dont, so as to maintain the visitor flow.
