As you may have seen Fiverr is now charging buyers a 50 cent surcharge rate hike (with the loop hole of using damn quick pay). Essentially a 10% rate hike for the casual buyer.

Will this rate increase make you use Fiverr less?

i guess it will be use double, instead of buying 1 gig, now people are buying 2 gigs or more just to save extra 50 cents

Doesn't help. Charge is 50 cents per gig, per gig extra etc. Order a gig with two extras and it's 1.5$.

And it does affect my buying in a sense, because I rarely buy from there anyways, might as well quit now. More boycotting rather than actually caring, but nevertheless.

Agreed that 25% fee is too much.

Fiverr has a problem. Sellers are constantly pissed off. And quality of SEO there is constantly going down. And now buyers are pissed off. It isn't like there aren't a TON of alternatives for quick/cheap gigs similar to Fiverr. I foresee this being the beginning of their downhill slide.

I don't think the extra change is going to matter too much. A lot of the gigs I buy simply cannot be found elsewhere for the same price. That's hardly fiverrs real problem though. As some of you mentioned before, sellers are pissed, buyers are pissed, and quality has generally gone down. So lately I've been buying and selling the same services elsewhere. Peopleperhour is my new preferred.

I dont see people stopping fiverr over an extra $0.50 , i do think this is a dirty move by fiverr , changing their original concept and adding $0.50 charge to all gigs but i guess they can do that since they practically own the market. Nobody else can compete with fiverr.

Wonder how this will impact their sales, it's like the $/£0.99 store charging 1.05. I think it could cause quite an impact as people are always looking to save money when using Fiverr. Just creates more of an excuse to deal outside Fiverr then they lose all the margin, good move Fiverr lol

Just find the gig you like, contact the provider and cut the middle-man entirely.

No it will not affect as the pricing for some of my outsourcing jobs are still relatively low compare to elsewhere
