Will Pay Someone to Teach Me How to Get SEO Clients

I'll pay whatever hourly rate you think is fair. I can rank almost anything within reason on Google but don't have any idea how to get clients. I am looking mainly for local clients but would do SEO for any website.

What would you charge per hour for a skype session?

I will tell you for free. This is how I do it.

I hired a cold calling guy (with no ego). His only job is to search in google for something like "<niche> <locationname>" and then start calling the companies that are ranking position 11 (second page) onwards. He simply explains them that they are not ranking high enough in google and hence getting no business leads, and will they want to try our service. Most of the times, the guy agrees for a meeting. I go visit the guy and fix a seo retainership deal. I have already closed 5 deals in last one month and considering they are recurring income, I expect to start making 10k USD per month in a few months.

It would be rather difficult to teach somebody how to coldcall. It's pretty much a skill you learn just by doing.

But for starters, why don't you check out this video?

I check that video which you share with us in this post, really it's very good way to share useful info with others. You have don a good job.
Keep it up.

1. Craigslist or other Ad Sites - Make an Image Ad in Photoshop and post on Ad Sites offering your services - or reply to businesses looking for Seo Services.
2. Local Meetings - alot of local areas have Chamber of Commerce meetings for small businesses - print up some business cards and attend.
3. Local Search Terms - search a local term - look and see who is using PPC and who is on Page 2 - contact those people with a proposal to help them
4. Cold Calling - use someone or do it yourself
5. Referral Method - contact local business and offer your service for free - so you have a resume or have them tell people how good you are.
6. 7878 mailing method
7. Go to the local Small Business Center where small businesses rent office space on a monthly basis and speak with them or leave flyers
8. Local Newspaper Ads

Honestly depends on your motivation and get up and go ... if you sit there thinking about it and not doing anything about it - then you will get nowhere.

Wow thanks for the great advice everybody! I am going to start putting some of these ideas into action because I know I can help rank local businesses in Google Places (I've proven I can do it) and that's the hardest part of the battle!

Yeah I'll be sure to update this thread with what I'm doing! I may have to move it to another section though.

Today I am going to create an image ad to post on Craigslist as well as send out some feeler emails to businesses in my area who are running PPC but ranking low in Google Places.

Future plans are to build a better website. I currently have michigan-seo.org but I can make a better one.

If you want local, then you can try social psychology and hand out sales psychology fliers around your area. Also buy spots in movie theaters, magazines, newspaper, and some other business targeted areas. For global simply start buying traffic and ranking your site to get the clients. Nothing more to it, just a game of how well your psychology really is to make a sale.
