    Hello,

I'm a newbie to SEO. I know what SEO is in theory but have not practised it. I hear a lot that Google loves content rich sites. But I am thinking about creating a niche specific site offering a download of a particular software and locking it with CPA offer. It will just be one page. The keyword is low competition.

Will I have a hard time ranking one-page site on Google or will it be do-able?

Why do I think I can rank a site if I have not done it before? Because I have now purchased GSA SER and in the process of purchasing a VPS.

    Thank you!

If its low comp keyword I believe you can rank it. More important are the thing you will learn in the process

I just want to add that having GSA SER is not a criteria to say that you can rank. Go manually if you are looking for long term.

So one page site is still not very hard to rank? I ask because I have been reading about Google loving content rich sites and penalizing one-page sites.

    Hi Mate,

I have had many clients that have been able to rank page 1 with single page review sites and their was no issue at all and they did fine ranking. Now with that said, there is a benefit of having more content and pages, as your site will look more authoratative in google's eyes and thus reduce the risk of getting slapped by mr panda! :)

Get more content to have better chances of ranking. One page site isn't gonna give you tonnes of money .

Yes, why work smart, when you can bust your fucking ass getting backlinks manually... Don't quit your dayjob.

Pretty much all SEO is churn & burn nowadays. Not even Google knows what it wants, so the chance of getting slapped at the next update is quite big. This is regardless of how "clean" your SEO is.

I beg to differ. Some of the most profitable sites online, done by affiliates, are one-pagers.

Well most of the traffic to those affiliates sites comes through social marketing and not from SEO. The reason is simple that for particular niche there would be many other sites providing more content with more posts on that niche and hence more chances of ranking higher.

So when you ask about SEO you should try to get more content than just a page. This would help getting more traffic.

Well, these days it is difficult to rank 1 page site in Google even for long tail keywords. You can have your site with a main landing page and a blog where you can add fresh content regularly. If you don't want to take those efforts, find other sources of cheap paid traffic - there are plenty.

Ranking is easy. Seriously - it's easy. Don't make it a big deal, and always do what you are afraid to do!

I still see many 1 page sites ranking on top. Give it a try. Everything is possible these day, google algo is not that smart.

You will have a hell of a time ranking a one page locked content site. The content is hidden. Nothing to SEO.

In fact, I don't think it can be done long term. Not for any competitive keywords anyway.

Your bounce rate is going to be thru the roof.

You need thousands of visitors for CPA, waste of time to even consider SEO on low traffic keywords. Better to forget SEO and push traffic to this particular site by other means. The world is a lot nicer place if you can disregard SEO.

Look, I am the king of "build the stupid site and see what happens" and "Damn the competition" but I seriously doubt this will work, and I sure wouldn't mess with it.

(Well, if you have found a cherry of a keyword you can of course, its always the keyword that matters.)

Just curious, is the software legal for you to distribute?

Hmmm, it doesn't have to be, it depends on the case.

But in my personal experience, it was harder.
