I own a small scale software company, and as of early 2010 research shows that less than 7% uses a mac. If you were a developer, you would focus on where the major market share is..

So I guess the answer would be the cost to produce a software for mac would be greater than the return. Thus it would take a few more time for small companies to create software programs for that platform.

    Just my 2 cents..

My best advice Guy. BUY a PC , It man not be what you like to work on but if your in the game to make money then you need a PC. Also if someone takes the time to make a mac bot there not just going to give it to you. For all the time you will waste trying to find a mac bot you can just spend $300 and get a basic PC tower and do work on that.

Everyone keeps suggesting parallels to me even though i already said i'm not an intel mac. Im still on powerpc, so parallels is useless to me. Could you guys make bots browser based or adobe air then? It'd still be cross compatible

Adobe Air / Browser based which needs to be ran on a powerful server, and therefore raises the cost for owning the product.

So it's not going to happen. Get a proper setup. Apple stopped selling PowerPC's over 4 years ago man... that's fucking old in computer years.

plus developer tools for mac are expensive. sorry to say but go get a pc they're more versatile - then run linux or windows and you have so many more options. Mac's really limit what you can do and they're expensive as heck. You pay a premium to drink the kool aid.

Adobe Air is a nightmare. I would hate to see any BH apps created in it - God only knows what would be lurking under the hood.

I guess a question for you would be what sort of bot are you looking for on mac?
I use Rb and that can generate native mac apps.

Hah... if you don't have an intel mac, forget it. Honestly, of the 7% of user that USE MAC... -- like 10% are still on PPC.

I however use PHP bots, which yes, run on my Intel iMAC :)

Well - that is actually quite easy.
Install a webserver on your mac (there is enough software for that for download online) and then run PHP bots. ;-)

    cheers
