I recently discovered gammatraffic and wanted to test it out on my local money site. I get about 0 to 20 visitors a day since it's a local business, so I'm not looking to drastically increase rankings, just give it a nudge. Anyone have thoughts about nudging your rankings with a small amount of bot traffic?

No mate, it's not advisable to use bot traffic on the money sites. More than it will not help ranking too. Best you could Guest post, quality backlinks.

I just wanna add that agree with the guys above, bot traffic is never safe and in the long term never good for money site, Google loves natural traffic and period :)

it can boost your ranking temporarily, but your ranking will go back to what it should be after you cancel.
you can try and tell how it will affect your local niche

Thank you all for the quick advice. This is reassuring that everyone is on the same page about this.

There’s this myth that the more traffic you have, the better your ranking will be. It’s like the ctr in the serps myth.

But, google will know you have bot traffic, and instead of improving your rankings, you’ll probably see the entire opposite

Everyone is, but no one has any evidence to back their claim. To play the devil's advocate I'd say that CTR does matter.
Let say that you have website A ranking first and website B ranking second. Website A has a CTR of 2% and website B 90% Google will be able to second guess his judgment and switch both website for a given keyword/search term.
I will not back my claim, as is tradition in this thread.

You need organic "looking" visits and not bot traffic.

you can try it, but it won't help in anything based on my experience. you can go with google ads instead.

i've seen some threads in the past say it helps.
it involved searching your kw on google -> clicking your website out of the serps -> hanging around for bit + clicking inner pages.
there's people hiring for this type of task. so it adds a little to its validity. or maybe it's all a con.
ultimately, you will have to do your own testing.
