I'm going to buy a member's software and service but need to migrate all my sites from Hostgator to GoDaddy. How difficult is this? I don't want to pay double hosting just yet.

well, smaller hosting comapnys would help you with the migration, but I doubt godaddy would do it. You need to check that with them.

how many sites have you got? I guess all that you need to do is ftp the files down from the old server and upload them back into the new server, and change the nameservers in your domain account and the sites should start working from the new server once the propagation is completed.

I have maybe 20 sites, is there a tutorial somewhere
that shows how to do all this? I can't find one in Google.

It depends what sort of sites you've got up on HostGator. If you've got databases then you'll need to back those up and transfer those as well as all the content for your sites.

There are databases. You will need to export the database SQL files, and then create databases in godaddys control panel - and then import the sql. Then you need to update your wp config files to point to the new mysql databases.

However. At HG you are using linux/cpanel hosting correct? Are you moving to godaddy linux/godaddy panel hosting? Or are you moving to windows/godaddy hosting? If you are moving to windows hosting you have a much bigger issue. A lot of file conversions etc,.
