why would goog release PR?

    it seems that this only helps people who are trying to cheat the algorithms by building links to their own websites. imagine if you didnt know a page's PR, then you wouldnt know how much to pay for a link or if you should even be buying a link from that website...and you wouldnt know how to analyze your competition.
    knowing PR only helps people who are trying to cheat the system. so why would goog tell us the PR?
