I heard some affiliates managers are successful affiliates marketers themselves and make good money doing affiliate marketing independently. If they make good money independently why would they work for a network? IMO all that would do is take time away from their independent business. There must be something really lucrative about being an AM for them to do it.

Many Affiliate Managers refer people and get a % of what their affiliates make. like a referal program kinda.

I really doubt they're making enough money to live off of IM earnings alone. The thing is, IM is an up and down game. Not many people can handle the lows which is why they have a 2nd job as a back up (another source of income since IM money is very unpredictable sometimes).

    Just my 2cents.

it's a great way to network & stay informed about what's going on.

... it's also a great way to steal methods/landing pages/traffic sources/ideas looking up the info on the traffic the affiliates bring you

Yeah, that's why i don't like telling them my traffic sources/methods but they always require it. They probably could steal my ideas.

yeh it's also good idea to cloak the referrers

I just stay very vague, "I do fb" etc. Great camps will get outed & replicated million times anyway, but delay it as much as you can.

An affiliate website is more hands off than a business. A website that only refers people to Amazon or another sales page is very easy to maintain compared to a business. Personal businesses make more money but take more work.

Do you mean the AMs will replicate camps?

somebody will replicate your camps, weather it's AM or competition.

Some of most highly successful people in AM are those that are good at spying on competition & quick to copy. Just don't make it easy on them.
