I'm using a brand new adwords account with a $100 voucher.

I chose Max $5 a day, but all four keywords have said "Pending Review" for 24 hours, tues/wed.

    Should I wait longer?
    Is this a recurring problem?
Should I increase my Daily Max?
Do I have to add billing information plus the voucher?

Is there a trick of the trade here? :)

Nevermind the keyword status, look at your ads' status.

If your ads are rejected, your keywords will remain in "pending review" forever (or until you get some new ads approved)

    Good Point! duh

My Ad status says "under review" and may be under review 1-3 business days.

Do ads usually get reviewed within 1-3 days or not?

Most of the times it takes less than a few hours (even minutes), but sometimes you're not lucky it can take up to 3 days.

If your ads are still "under review" after 3 days, you should try to contact them.

I've seen this happen a few times, the ads got kinda "stuck" in the review system, but they can this out in a matter of minutes when I get them on the phone.

(btw I've been working at an SEM agency for quite a long time so I used to deal with adwords - which was 90% of the business - all day long ;) )

I had that same think happen a year ago. The issue with me (which I would have never known had I not emailed them a WTF email after a few days) was that I was using words I wasn't allowed to use in my ad. If there is an option, I would email and see if that's it. Once I rewrote my ads the problem went away.
