I watched a video someone suggested in a topic I don't particularly care for, and now I regularly see more videos in that topic on my feed. Clicking the "not interested" and "don't show content from this channel" buttons slowed the content down a bit, but hasn't stopped them from appearing.

My guess is YouTube's algorithm still intentionally shows you content that you put down as not being interested in because there are a lot of views in 'hate watching'.

You could try creating a new YouTube account to remove Andrew Tate from your feed. Unfortunately, if he's a popular topic at the moment, it might show you his content on your new account as well.

no way to stop this bullshit bro. youtube is intentionally advertising this guy. we're gonna have to see that crap every single day. i wouldn't post it on bhw but enough is enough, why do i have to see him right?

im not saying he's a good guy or bad guy, all im saying is that i don't want to see him for at least 10 times a day and there is nothing i can do to get rid of this guy

Have you heared of the Baader-Meinhof phenomenon?

A good way to signal lack of interest is to not only avoid engagement, but also scroll fast and don't "stay" too long on these posts.

Seriously, I have the same issue with YouTube at the moment. Before I got my ball python, I had watched some videos on feeding frozen-thawed rodents to snakes, and YouTube's algorithm was like, "Here's something else you might enjoy: ANIMAL ABUSE! 100 HAMSTERS VS PAC-MAN FROG IN A TINY CONTAINER".

I click the dislike button, I don't watch those videos, I've even tried reporting some of them; and YouTube still insists on putting that in my feed (ba dum ts).

When someone is so much in the limelight, spreads hate, talks bullshit and what not, you can't avoid them. On top of it his affiliate shit, People have gone crazy for him. Irony being dude doesn't actually deliver real value but still!

Until a few months ago there was no such a thing as andrew tate anywhere on social media, now youtube shorts is all about andrew tate's videos, on twitter there is andrew tate hashtag every single day. on my facebook homepage i randomly see andrew tate's so called ''inspirational'' quotes. nobody realizes this but all the social medias are advertising this guy on purpose. now everyone is talking about this andrew tate guy and i hate to see his stuff every single day

I don't care about this guy, i never watched any of his videos but i see his face more than i see my father's face.
You are advertising him here. I saw your post and looked who this guy is, and saw his picture and never seen your fathers picture. There is no publicity as bad publicity.

If this is real, forget about him. I will not make remarks because religion can not be discussed here.

so when do you think this andrew tate bullshit is gonna come to an end? are we gonna keep seeing him every single day for years and years?
It will end when the internet elects the next trending asshole and our obsequious society of idiots who can't think for themselves arbitrarily decides to jump on his dick for no other reason than because everyone else is.

So probably another few months at most.

I'm with you though; I abhor people or topics that are trending just for the simple fact that they are trending and there's never any logic behind it. It's my overwhelming aversion to being even remotely associated with the status quo and doing whatever the crowd is doing (which is why I like BHW since most of us are like-minded people here).

If something becomes popular because it's genuinely interesting or funny or insightful or literally for any good reason, I'd be okay with it. But some genius physicist could discover how to travel back and forth through time and invent a device that allows us to easily do so, and it still won't get any play because "[email protected] [email protected] touched @ndrew [email protected]'s ass outside of frozen yogurt shop." (I'm probably still going to get inundated with videos of these two jackasses...)

The time travel machine would get maybe 10k total views, and the other would get 10 million in the first 24 hours.

This kind of shit really highlights just how pedestrian and obtuse our society is.

If this is real, forget about him. I will not make remarks because religion can not be discussed here.
Why do people feel like religion should be off limits? It's nothing more than mythology under a pseudonym.

Are we also "not allowed" to discuss the gods of the ancient greeks, romans, aztecs, or any of the thousands of other gods/religions that have existed throughout history?

The greeks believed in Zeus and the gods of Mount Olympus with just as much conviction as people today believe in the christian god or the muslim god or the hindu gods or whatever else people worship.

It's all mythology, and if someone's belief is that strong, they should be open to discussing it with people without getting offended.

It means you’re actively digesting his content, so they’re giving you more. The algorithm.

I love how he's playing the "the elites are going to try to kill me now" angle.

If big tech really wanted him censored it's pretty easy to just ban "andrew tate" from video headlines.

P.S. I actually like him now. I think he's a cool guy and a character, but he's a master at PR.
