I am in a low comp niche and keep buying packages and my site is not moving at all it is stuck between 2-5 for its main keywords. There is no dancing, fluctuation, nothing. Im thinking to hit it with high PR blog posts. I mean I have 2100 links and a guy is beating me with 35...wtf is going on?! This is for my offline business so its local search. Any recommendations?

If it's for a local business make sure you are geo targeted in web master tools. Without analysing your site/niche/comp I can only guess but I would start with analysing what the other top 5 competitors are doing and try to replicate their links. I would also look to build 10 + web 2.0s again with geographical referencing. After that local directories, social media etc .

I don't see the point in buying random services no matter how good they appear to be. If you are not going to do your own seo then find a service provider you like working with and get them to suggest a plan and work with them to the plan rather than working with all and sundry.

    1. You are buying packages which are normally useless.
    2. By purchasing packages you may have lots of links but how many are high quality?

A handful of high authority links are far better than thousands of spammy links.

Just thought I should point out that if it's a google local places listing, you will never outrank a competitor's site that is considered to be closer to that areas central point of reference. Not sure if they use zip codes, addresses, or whatever but if this is local search, and that site is closer to that reference point, you will never outrank it.

2100 crap backlinks < 35 quality backlinks from authority sites.
You should also check your on site SEO.

I'm in the same boat. I have no idea why someone with 3500links, great content, clean site, and getting out ranked by garbage low backlinking sites. lol. Its so very true. Obviously, I'm a newb but damn. The G hates me ;). Personally I think G algorithms are shit and work how they're supposed to in certain niches and in others it's just complete chaos/disorganized.

I'm not sure about the types of packages you're buying, but remember, quality is always king.

Make sure you diversify and stay up to date on what's trending (twitter, pinterest, tumblr) and send quality links to your money site.
When I say quality, I usually recommend links from pages that are legible by real humans (not auto spins).

Build a few qualities, and you will have lasting results for the long run.

this is one thing that gets me.

people think rankings happen over night, and they don't. this isn't ppc. while i may be wrong about your situation i see far too often friends and other people posting on the forums about how they spent $1,000 on seo a week ago and dont understand why they aren't first.

google needs to index and thus credit the links you created. this usually means you'll see some sort of google dance and movement before you start ranking consistently.

its all about patience, high quality link building while diversifying.

2100 backlinks compared to 35, obviously yours are appearing as spam backlinks to google and his are appearing as niche relevant quality backlinks. Change your SEO methods.

Have you tried turning it on and off? (sorry had to)

In all seriousness, you might want to slow down with the backlinks. Since you have over 2,100 and one with 35 is beating you that tells me that either 1.) The backlinks you got were trash, or 2.) Google is seeing your backlinks as spam and is doing something about it. Also make sure you actually have the 2,100 backlinks left, I bought several packages for one of my sites and when I checked I had around 150 backlinks when I bought over 1,000.

I would definitely try higher PR backlinks.

If you could just throw packages at your site and make it IM would be a no brainer and we'd be working for the rich instead of making it happen.

Map out on paper exactly what you need and expect to happen from your project. Have full understanding of your goal and deadlines for each step step in the plan. Then carefully select packages only for functions you can't do yourself. Hope that helps.

Your problem is likely on-page SEO issues. Try desensitizing your keyword in the content while keeping your internal linking as is.

throw in some decent links too, rome was not built on spam alone

You should try to analyze your competitors back links and duplicate them. Plus making sure all your on page optimization factors are in check. And if this is for a local business you should concentrate on citations rather then blog comments.

Its without a doubt the quality of your links. 5 Good quality links are better than 50000 garbage links.
I've learned this the hard way.

Yes it's true that quality > quantity. For example 100000 crappy nofollow SB links will obviously have less power than 10 good quality ******** contextual backlinks from well reputed sites.

However I suspect it's not just that. After the Penguin update, backlinks can actually hurt you, if you're not careful. When you buy packages, you don't know what the fuck they are doing with your links. The services most likely don't give a crap, it's why they are being sold as services. Gone are the days when you can outrank a site by just blasting harder or being more aggressive. There's a certain amount of luck involved until people truly make sense of the recent updates. If your site's not moving, in theory you could end up blowing infinite cash on services to try to rank your site, and it could all end up worse than when you started.

You might do better to investigate paid traffic. Once you figure out which keywords are getting you business leads, calculate the value of each lead, and as long as you're paying less than that in paid traffic you're in profit. It would involve quite a bit of testing and use of Prosper202 but it could well save your business in the end.
