    All the people in the U.S. pushing for stronger anti porn laws, are the ones that are actually more likely to watch it. I really don't get why they can't just admit to watching it and stop trying to make something they like illegal.

    Utah has the most strict porn laws in the United States but the highest per capita porn subscription rate in the U.S.

    http://abcnews.go.com/Technology/Business/story?id=6977202&page=1

    Porn brings in alot of money, its basically like holding up a "We hate money" sign,by banning it and making people go to other states.

    It really is quite simple if you don't like it don't watch it. No need to ruin other peoples entertainment over something they pretend not to like.

    For some (like my Ex-Wife), it goes beyond "if I don't like it, then I don't watch it" to a moral crusade to keep from degrading women and the like. Whew... am I glad that she's now my Ex-Wife... :p

    For many others, it's like a lot of ppl here - live and let live. If you're into it - cool... check it out. If you're not - cool... don't check it out.

    Personally, yea... I like to check it out here and there and my wife is cool with that. She knows it poses no threat to our relationship. Of course, moderation guys - don't get yourself addicted to that fake crap... lol

    Whats even worse is that some countries ban porn production and distribution and are located right next to a country that doesn't,and they are wanting international investors.

    For example Bulgaria is heavily promoting investing into the country, but they ban the porn industry, but in Romania porn is perfectly legal. So you have to go through extra trouble of setting up the holding/investing company in Ruse,Bulgaria and then the production part in Giurgiu,Romania. Its not like if they allowed production a bunch of high paying taxpayers are going to move to another EU country, since Bulgaria already has the lowest tax rate in the EU.

    I dont get why people cannot think with financial sense over, wanting to ruin the fun for everyone and not making more money from tax revenue.

    @black.star
    In Kentucky, probably the most anti-gay state in the U.S. the #1 porn search is "free gay porn"

    http://www.telegraph.co.uk/technology/internet/9927535/The-worlds-top-porn-search-terms-revealed.html

    on an unrelated note, I'd love to get a devil costume like that and use it while working on the computer,lol.

    @oldsalt

    I don't get why women think that, the women earn the most in porn, the men usually don't have their faces shown, they are basically considered nothing in the industry. It seems like they "degrade" men more than they "degrade" women in the industry. Also not all porn has women in it, there's also gay porn and tranny porn.

    The US has always had a problem with sexual identity. It started puritanical, trying to be nice and pure, but the US now has people ranging from essentially white people in burkhas to women who would look less erotic if they were actually naked.

    Ropa, your original thought is pretty right in that when you make something "bad" you make it more profitable.

    They push people to other states to get votes within theirs if the balance between money and votes is on the favorable side of votes. It's all business.

    Across the world, though, I think it gets more serious. Countries that have banned porn, I believe, are the ones that are either religious nutter or have lost control internally of their human rights protection and there is a lot of nasty shit going on...I mean, Bulgaria? I can't think of somewhere more perfect for a DARK film.

    While I agree with you on most of your opinions here on BHW, this one our viewpoints differ (I took it more as a joke so that was alright). As more research is being done on the effects of pornography on the human brain, it's becoming more obvious of how subtly destructive it really is.

    Bulgaria is nice, they have a 10% flat tax, and income earned though trading stocks in the Bulgarian exchange, any EU and EEA exchanges is exempt from income tax.

    @Ignito Why not ban sports under the same "its bad for you", watching sports can cause heart attacks, also football hooligans and violence in other sports by spectators has caused thousands of deaths over the past few decades.

    This doesn't even include people all over the world killed for just wearing a rival sports teams clothing.

    I wasn't singling out the UK before edit, just those were the first two most interesting on you tube search for football hooligans.

    Sounds like it has the same effect on Human brain like alcohol, cigarettes and sugar. A good reason to tax it higher.

    Im tired of the whole "protecting kids" bs that so many people do, its the same reason why kinder eggs are banned. It sucks that people use kids to ruin fun for adults.

    Me watching porn isn't hurting kids, and me buying and eating a kinder egg isn't hurting kids as well.

    When a topic is made taboo, it becomes more magnetic, and one gets more kick -- it takes them on a virtual exotic trip from the blandness that have come from its real-life overuse.

    Sorry, I don't know how to word that phenomenon in better terms! :)

    IMHO you must see the big picture of things. If something is illegal or highly controlled the price skyrockets and the demand follows accordingly.

    It's been seen throughout history.

    1) The prohibition. Women activists push a law -> Government approves it (I highly doubt the REAL motives for that approval) -> Alcohol gets banned -> $$$$$$$ for the likes of Nucky Thompson, Al Capone -> $$$$$$$$ for the government (various ways of collecting the cash, known and unknown to the general public, there are unconfirmed rumors/theories that specialized US gov. cells were formed to move alcohol and profit from distribution)

    2) Drug industry -> banned, illegal -> hundred billion dollars industry -> 70-100 tons cocaine per month in the US alone (2011-2012 statistics) -> bet the government has a slice of that.

    3) Porn industry -> multi billion dollars/year industry, now legal -> prohibition -> revenue increased tenfold maybe?!

    The point is that if you forbid something, most people will want to try or do that something. Curiosity is in our nature. It's psychologically proven.

    Edit: I want to state that I'm all for protecting children from seeing porn. It's not healthy and it can form sexual deviations and false perspective on things. Only after you've matured sexually you'll be less affected by porn. Also I am all for proper sexual education for children, and if wrapped properly it can be taught to 6-7 year old's without any issues.
