Why should sellers be responsible?

    Okay...I recieved a $500 payment on paypal from a guy for a programming service i provided him.

    all seemed good...

    then i find out today that the guy had some unsavory business practices and paid me with money that got charged back on his account. so now the money that i already withdrew from my account is held, and im responsible to put $500 back in!

    wtf is up with that? why am i being held responsible for his idiocy?

    Reason is lots of people who do shady things thru paypal instead of just blatently transferring money to another paypal will pay for a service with it, like laundering it. They think you or he did that and snatched it back.
