Yes,impare numbers haves a positive effect on clients, and make the price seem smaller

    Most used numbers are "-9 and -7"(Example: 297$ , 299$)

Now think you are someone in a store filled with TV's and Electronics. You see 2 TV's wich looks simmilar, but one of them costs 300$ and the other one costs 297$.Wich one will look more appealing to you?(even if it's only a 3$ difference)

Sorry for my bad english :)

Not really, but the "9" was over-used for a long time, and didn't had the same effect as it did at start,so they need an alternative :)

I was wondering it too, anyway we have our luck regardless to the last digit of the prices.

he he nice question...its because they are the the most profitable nos. and even called as 'magic number'.
lets take as example u sold an ebook for $25 and then u sold that same ebook for $27, then probably u will see more conversions...its magic bro. Really this happens if anyone has this kind of xperience share here...

it's like saying something costs $10 or $9.99 or $9.97 - just a mind trick that consumers brains happily fall for..

even though the actual difference is little, the perceived amount 'feels' much lower

7's are good for conveying a deal. 4's are good for conveying value. That's why you see a lot of 24 dollar products.

Pure research. They just work better than their 1/3 dollars more expensive counterparts.

So is it strange if I buy something for $297 and consider myself spending $300?

You'd be surprised how this positively affects sales. Subconsciously we see $197 to be "not quite" $200 so we're more inclined to buy. It works really well - even better than $199/8 even if its $3.

People buy individual potatoes in supermarket for 0.02cents so it rounds into 0.00 so they get the potato for free. Think about that.

The business term is psychological pricing, As many people said when you see something for £100 or £99 a few years ago you would go for the £99 even though it's only £1 less it seems a load less because there is a whole digit less.

We have now adjusted our minds and see no difference in £99 and £100
So the new .99 is .97 or as I do .77

We haven't adjusted to it yet, what do you think the next one will be?

If you ask a person to pick a number between 1 and 10 without thinking, an overwhelming majority will pick the number 7.

I used to do magic tricks, and one of the tricks involved "mind reading", part of which was asking them to pick that number between 1-10. The only time people would pick a number other than 7 was when they refused to answer right away, because they wanted to think about it.

Why this is, I have no idea, but somehow, the number 7 holds a lot of power for humans.

It's psychological term. I remember wso book ever wrote like this why you should choose xx9 or xx7 than xx0.

    Example, 7,99 Vs 8,00.
Even it just 0,01, the amount 7,99 can sell 10 times better than 8,00
