k so paypal suddenly decides i cant send money to other people the way i normally do ("send money" tab and it withdraws from my bank account which sends money instantly). now they wont let me do instant transfer, they only let me choose "E-cheque" which sitll withdraws from bank but takes 6-8 days to clear, so its not instant. the hell? why they do this? nothing wrong with my account.

They've been doing that a while for some accounts. To send money instant or as gift you have to have existing funds to draw from. Not sure when it changed or what accounts it affects. I know mine have to have existing funds and they are all aged legitimate accounts with about one dispute every 2 years.

you might have had a limitation put on your account, or maybe you need to update your info. I would call them and you can get it sorted probably right away.
