Why pay for high PR links if you can just comment on some of them?

Probably a noob question. I see in the link building service section some services that charge you $20-$30 dollars per high PR link. I'm just looking into Scrapebox and I see you can harvest the shit out of URLs, sort them by page rank, see which ones you're able to post on, and you're left with some high page rank sites (4 or 5 pr) that you can leave a blog comment on. So if you can do this in a few seconds, why would anyone pay that kind of money for PR links?

My guess is maybe a link on the main part of the site is worth higher than a blog comment link? Am I right?

Yup! Do-follow backlink from the body of the post is entirely different from the do-follow link from comments.

Why would some one pay vs doing comment links? Simple, because when you look at the big picture few people know about shit like scrapbox. Lots of webmaster don't hang out here and don't have a fking clue. Marketing is all about finding some one you can convince to buy your shit because he/she believes your line of crap promoting your shit. Do that even half ass'd and ding ding - you can sell shit left and right. Life is one big sales job so find some fools who will believes your line of crap and sell them links.

I make hundreds of $$ per month from assholes who buy my links through text link ads because they think having links on sites with decent PR is a good thing. WTF?

What you`ve wrote there.. that`s just mean, and not entirely true. I don`t even sell seo services but if you do look around you`ll find some links worth buying. Like on private networks that would take a whole lot to make them yourself. So it`s not all about selling crap

The farther your link appears from all the viagra and cialis spam comments the better. :)

a blog comment is not worth the same as a link in the main article, however it is still worth something, especially if you are on of the first to comment on the page and you add something of value other than "great post I will be sure to bookmark it"

you should try and make an assesment on the site as to the worth of the link, install the mozbar, and look at the page PR, Page authority as well as mozrank. Depending on what your aims are with the link you can look into traffic assessment from the sites etc...

If you are looking to pay the whole way, you can look into other links, however i did read the if there is a lot of links from one domain, Google will devalue all the links and count it as a proportion of the site.

The important thing is to diversify the portfolio, so not all of your links are comment links but also not all your links are sidebar, guest blogs, social bookmarks or directory listings. Keep it varied with and natural looking and you will be able to build the domain to a strong level with hopefully long term end goal

High PR links or High PR comments are equivalent from perspective of link juice. They both can pass same amount of link juice; But in case of comments OBL is main issues and secondly relevancy of the comment to your site is also an issues. So if you manage to get a link from high PR comments with OBL less than 10 or so and post a relevant comment related to your site even if the comment page is not related to it. It will have the same/better effect.

    How do i know?
I do it day in and day out! Works like charm!

On the downside High PR links have inherent risk of being penalized if not used correctly.
