Well I guess it might be the downfall for many people who enjoy a bit of success when they are young and in to the internet marketing scene. It certainly was for me.

Until early 2009 I was making a killing from Black Hat SEO but success lead me to become lazy thinking I was set for life from the income of a few websites. How I was wrong lol.

I guess you have to learn the hard way huh?

Anyways I'm in the process of writing up a new 'noob guide to making money online'. Lots of it shit you can find everywhere on any IM forum just broke down in to a simple step by step process for making affiliate and adsense sites with wordpress.

I was doing some research and found a product I made in 2006 that i totally forgot about  http://web.archive.org/web/20061231183134/http://www.rssgmai.com

Even worse it has some of my old screenshots from my casino earnings back then!

Grrr, why did I ever stop!

    You mad?

If you mean I am looking for people to believe my story, well yes, Im interested in talking to other people in my situation, mainly for encouragement. Is that wrong?

But if you mean I am looking for people to buy that script.... LOL.

You've had success in internet marketing and even you are giving up, WOW!!

I agree a few websites maybe not enough for life time earnings, so build yourself 100's.

The grind is the grind. There are no short cuts, stop working and your empire will fall, because no one else stops working, they just work harder and there is always someone new willing to work harder than you.

    2006? that was centuries ago!

LOL u kids must be crazy.. go to http://hxxp://www.rssgmai.com and check it out..

The whole point of posting my (old) link was to give you an idea of how I was doing back then. Not to try pimp out some out dated PoS script.

lexblast 2006 does feel like a long time ago now, compared to how I am now and how I was then.

Yea and that kinda reminds me again another reason why things went downhill. Playing too much Warcraft! I would spend my time grinding in game and not grinding out the websites

This is a natural cycle that most people who see success go through, and quickly learn from. I surely did.

Wow your story seems sooo similar to mine. I even did the world of warcraft thing! RSSGM was awesome back in those days. I got into playing online poker and neglected internet marketing. I am trying to get back into marketing again but it seems so much harder than before! Wierd that it's hard for me to make any decent money at the moment when in 2005-2006 I made about $1 million in profits.

Yea kiladen I know where ya coming from.

Back then I would just whip a few crappy cloaker or rssgm sites, spam some links and profit. Not so easy these days, or not as easy anyway.

I'm going more white hat now, trying to make some decent sites that will still in the serps along with trying to get some new products out their. Affiliate, adsense and cpa stuff might be good but it sure doesn't beat having your own product to sell.

Yep I experienced the same thing.

What you have to do is work on longterm projects, so that even if you do get lazy, you'll still be raking in the dough.

All I've ever done was short term projects, and when I did start to make a killing, I'd get lazy and after a few months the short term income streams just didn't work as they used to.
Which is why I'm focusing my efforts on longterm income websites.

If you're a noob, it may be best to start out BH to get that quick cash. Once you have enough $$ saved up, invest it into WH.

Ya longterm is definitely my plan now hence very little black hat stuff. Really wanna get some products out there and start building a customer base etc.

Just started going through Product Launch Formula 3, gives me good motivation :D

Yep...it happens in all parts of life I would believe. I've gone through years without a job because things were going so well and well...life happens to slap some reality into the brief but fun fantasy land.

In reality the best thing to do first is stop beating yourself up about it. For me I find nowadays that searching the past never really made sense because I'd feel bad about it, then I'd become increasingly frustrated trying to figure it all out. You don't get the answers you want or need so you repeat the cycle. That cycle can go for years too, so now I just release on the past so I can have the answers now.

And sure enough I find it easier to get back in the saddle and get going again doing the things that build up to success.

The OP does raise a good point: don't quit your day job until you are very secure with your IM income. For me that means some serious diversity (i.e., not just relying on adsense, clickbank or a few websites for my $$$). It is tempting for all of us to start working from home for a few hours a day, but one algorithm change from G could change everything overnight.

With that said, I can't wait until I'm done with my day job too! I'm working towards doing that about 2 years out...
