There are some people really worthy of a shoutout on this forum, and sometimes the thanks button isn't good enough, especially if they helped you through PMs for example.

    What do you guys think?

BHW I believe has over half a million members, many new and many old so it'd be quite difficult to do a "shoutout" for every person even if they're "worthy" . While a relatively new member myself, I've been a long time browser. Those on here who deserve to be well respected are, we know who those members are and in my opinion, the best way to help a member stand out would be to write a review on how they've helped or write a review on the quality of a service you received from them.

I definitely agree though, there should definitely be a section for users to leave reviews of other users, whether they're positive or negative.

Not necessarily because there would not be a dedicated section opened for this unless there was a Moderator in place for the section to prevent spam & self promotion.

Most of my business deals are just business deals, after the client is satisfied, eventhough they were like can I give you itrader and things like that, I will always say that's fine, cuz a business is business, I don't want any personal favor from them.

reviews are left on sales threads and as proven in the past they can be faked
mods have a heavy work load already and they work for free

As this kind of thing could be easily manipulated; mod(s) will have harder time if there is this function created.

TSL serves a purpose other than defamation, it is there to help resolve issues. A 'promotion section' as you suggest would serve no purpose without some sort of way to make people earn the right to be there.

Those that deserve 'shout outs' on BHW usually get them and have bulk thanks. On the other hand, some people must be botting the thanks button...

I suppose that it is true that mods have a lot of work on their hands, but surely a post limit on who can shoutout could help with the problem of false promotion?
