Back in Dec I had a website hit the #5 spot for its keyword and that earned me a good $10-15 bucks a day for 6 weeks, then went into the sandbox. About a month ago it came out and reached the #2 spot, but not its only earning about $1 a day.

I havnt changed the page at all as far as adsense layout and aff links. It still gets the same amount of searches per month. Can anyone explain why it isnt earning as much anymore?

Check Google insights to see if summer is a low time for your keyword.

Also, if you aff links were to Amazon, you will always cash out at Christmas. You can't expect the same income year round.

True, the current trend can sometimes play a huge role in this factor, depending on what type of site is you might benefit by putting a poll on your site to find out about your visitors and what they want. I have created a poll for my video site asking people what they would like to see more and used those results for posting more videos based on what the majority of the people voted for and it started getting people to stay on my site for longer amounts of time. That's the only thing I can think of unless you maybe recently changed your seo tactics and that could be affecting it.

I checked insights and the keyword remains steady through the year then has a small spike in nov-dec (obviously for xmas) so that might have a little to do with it. Im gettin a little bit more traffic than I previously did its just not converting, even my adsense CTR was 20% at the time and now its around 6%

Check you actual clicks. If they are the same then pay per ad was lowered. Or if traffic is lowered.. Well the one excuse that people are not a computers would work..

Maybe your content isn't what it used to be or your readers are not into your ads. If you can't find a reason just flip the site, and on to a new project.

Because life is a bitch and nobody dies a virgin because life fucks as all.

Other than that 1 and 2nd could make a big difference in unique visitors per day. Do you still get the same amount of visitors per day? Did any particular news come out about the product your trying to sell?

Content is the exact same as it was 7 months ago, not a single thing has changed on this page. And the same users use to be into the ads, but not anymore.

Also its just a review page of a common household item, nothing about this item has really changed in the least 5 years or so.

Well I guess you can you will either have to drive in more traffic. Since google is likely the cause and it probably has something to do with adsense I doubt there is much you can do. Either flip the site or figure out a new way to monetize it.

Seems like you got the high season in dec. and now it's not high season, so less $ because of that
