how about you share your own sites openly here? would that be bad thing for you? do you have any idea how fast niches get stolen here? And I agree with the above guy, remove the link and I really think people who expose other people's website for ordinary crap like this should be banned from bhw!

bhw should have a rule banning all urls in situations like this. With just one post, you can ruin someone's site and their livelihood.

If the site is new, it could be the new site effect. Google likes to give new sites a boost to give users a taste of success, then take it away from them after a few months. It helps drive up Adwords prices!

Ever tried this in .htaccess? -
    Code:
    Options +FollowSymlinks
    RewriteEngine On
    RewriteBase /
    SetEnvIfNoCase Referer "^$" bad_user
    SetEnvIfNoCase User-Agent "^AhrefsBot" bad_user
    SetEnvIfNoCase User-Agent "^MJ12bot" bad_user
    Deny from env=bad_user
    Cheers.

That's only going to block those bots from seeing the links ON your site. They'll still see links from other sites pointing to your sites (unless you own those sites too and also block via htaccess).

Also many bots set their user agent to look like a normal user. I know for a fact google and other SE bots sometimes do this but I'm not sure about those two you posted.

Nevertheless it doesn't do any harm adding that to htaccess so thanks for sharing.
