What is up with so much advocating digital payments? Cash is so much better, and you can't make it rain with a rfid chip on your cellphone. And a mouse and keyboard offer much better control then a touch screen, Plus you can't play any good games with a touchscreen, only crappy games.

I don't think a single place in my BFE town accepts mobile payments...maybe Starbucks. If so, I doubt anyone uses it. I sure won't be using it.

Just because you don't like it doesn't mean there isn't someone out there who does. Chances are, the companies that make this stuff have done their research (And no, not just checking to see if a kewyord gets X amounts of hits a month) and they see a market for it.

But tech used about being more powerful with every year. But lately the upgrades haven't been so impressive.

Like the mainstream tablet PC's are so weak in terms of there CPU and amount of ram,and OS's that don't offer that much programs that you can install yourself, like with windows OS and linux, and even MAC OS. They have to much limitations.

Hype and trying to artificially steer consumer interest. Prime example the mobile OS from MS. An year ago the devices could run age of empires on a 200 MHz CPU.

Today MS demands that the phones have at least a 1 GHz CPU and the OS is just an ugly mix between android and apple incapable of running even solitaire smoothly. They still claim it's great and an inovation of a new magnitude.

    Same with car makers.

    Same with lawmakers :)
What, the new tax increase? Rejoice, the future is now!

The trick is to simply ignore the crap.

The first AOE had pretty low requirements compared to today standards.

There are some nice windows 7 tablet pc's from epath china and alibaba, only problem is that they are using the older single core intel atom cpu. The cedar trail cpu in one of them, with a faster SSD would make a really nice tablet pc.

I've been waiting for bendable screens for a while.

Frankly, I'd love to have a shirt that plays gifs on it.

Also waiting for streamlined speech-to-text...That will be a complete game changer. So glad that it's an option on cars now; ludicrous that with all the text message driving accidents this wasn't addressed earlier considering cars have used bluetooth for years.

A cash-free society is silly and will never happen. Black markets will never end. I think a system without cash is a cop-out method of increasing percentage growth in the economy every year. We spend way more with electronic money than actually exists, and this is the only reason the deck of cards hasn't collapsed yet. It's incredulous that we still are able to buy food.

The system won't fail, and if it does, it's gg no rematch. So no worries.

Frankly, if you produce money and employ people and pay taxes, the NWO is gonna luv you <3.

(Sidenote: The idea of a one world government, military, banking, religion....kind of already exists and has existed for centuries if not since the beginning of civilization. I mean, come on, empires have existed since time immemorial and freedoms were even less then. Wouldn't a new world order be...an end of this? Wouldn't it be the impetus for ACTUAL state sovereignty and independent rights?)

I think the USA is the only country that can print more money when we need it. I've always thought that was a bad thing but it actually isn't.
