I have a product specific site that is currently the 5th listing on page 1 of Google for its keyword.

The keyword has 2400 exact match searches per month with medium competition. However, I'm only getting 14 UV's on average per day. The keyword is the actual product name so I would guess that it would be a great "buying" keyword.

    What could be wrong?

Sounds about right to me for middle of page one with low search terms.

Nothing is wrong. Try to increase your position and see if you can target other related keywords.

#1 gets around 50-60% of traffic
#2 gets around 20-30% of traffic
#3 gets around 5-10% of traffic

If you are #5 with a poor keyword, honestly, do not expect any UVs a day.

What I don't understand though is that in the very beginning I was getting 150 UV's per day and making some sales in the same SERP position and same monthly searches.

You could also get lucky and receive a massive amount of UVs.
You need to consider all of the efforts you are doing on a daily basis, are you putting the same promo as you were doing at the start? If you wanna be consistent with the uvs you gotta keep improving your methods.
Honestly, do not really dream about receiving many UVs a day if you are in #5 for a low searched KW.

My suggestion would be making a really strong campaign via social networks, might not improve your rank, but it will definitely improve the UVs.

I have a keyword ranked #4 with similar amount of searches and I only get about 14-30 visitors per day. So I would say your count is pretty normal.

#5th does not receive much traffic vs #1.

Also, you might want to verify your rankings - incase you have your cookies enabled.

May be because google show up 2-3 adwords ads above the 1st ranked site?

Try to add rich snippets (google authorship or stars) and you may increase your click through rate.

If you got higher traffic and sales earlier you might want to check out Google insights to see if there is a seasonal peak for your keyword. It's possible that you ranked right at the peak, or maybe even when something around your niche was going viral.

I agree with everyone here. You're currently pulling in about 18% of the available traffic (give or take) on the first page. That's actually pretty good for the #5 result. Keep increasing your rank and you should see a pretty steady rise in traffic.

And as lover mentioned, try adding rich snippets to make your search result stand out. If you're on Wordpress check out GD Star Rating plugin. This will add some star ratings by your result. Really catches the eye.

Some sites are not that much demanded by public and may get less traffic that you are facing.

I'm sure I read studies saying that anything after the third result won't get many UVs at all, in fact anything that requires the searcher to scroll down will usually struggle for much unique traffic. What I would do is look to promote more on as many different platforms as possible. The more diverse your backlinks the better your chances of moving up in the rankings and the wider an audience you can attract. Then you'll get more UVs and more conversions. It's all about presence.

Make sure your logged out of you Google account or your personal sites may show up on page one just for you. Just a thought, I may be off on this, but it's worth a try.

I also didn't get much traffic from #5 in Google. Once I got to #1 it really started picking up. Remember that there are ads above the search results.... Gluck bro
