I have had this blog that i setup some 3-4weeks ago,Did no backlinking whatsoever, but the issue is this; the home page has not been indexed in Google but the other posts are getting indexed.

Should i be worried? This is the first i am having such a thing happen. why is it so and is there anything i should do? thanks

Do you have any links in posts going to the home page? If not, it might help. Otherwise do some social media to the front page or wait a little longer.

It'll show up again. This has been happening lately for what is seemingly random. It hasn't happened to my site yet, but I've spoke with others about it, and it reappears in about 3-4 days.

Its very common problem,I suggest you to go with some normal SEO methods too which will get your homepage on search engine.

I agree with his statement here. I have a friend who experienced the same problem that you're experiencing right now. After doing some normal SEO like what she normally does on her other website, it gets indexed after a week. So be patient and continue doing your SEO.

You shouldn't worry it does happen sometimes. Try to ping your site to alert the search engine for faster index. And continue optimizing your homepage while waiting.

Check your sitemap & robot.txt to see if you're blocking google bot to specific pages or not? And you can also submit homepage in Webmaster tool to get indexed again. Not a serious issue I think
