It seems people just want to farm comments, grow their accounts, exchange reactions between them (VIP members with XXXX posts and reactions, they kiss each other's asses) and very little useful and helpful comments when someone really needs a specific answer. Just generic and repetitive comments. Take it as a constructive criticism.

Personally, when I have a particular opinion or specific suggestion of service to make, I don't hesitate to mention it.
However, when I don't know a specific service to suggest, I prefer to just indicate the BHW Marketplace, most of people creating these posts are newbies and they appreciate our help, because some of them don't even know about BHW Marketplace existence or sections to find reputable sellers in this forum

Black Hat World (BHW) is a mix of genuine experts, scammers, and people who just want to show off. Getting useful and human help there is tough because:
  1. Gatekeeping & Ego – Many users prefer flexing their knowledge rather than actually helping.
  2. Misinformation – Lots of outdated or outright false advice, especially from people who never tested their own methods.
  3. Paywall Mentality – Many won’t share real insights unless you pay them for courses, consultations, or "mentorship."
  4. Scam-Ridden Environment – Fake services, upsells, and people pretending to be helpful just to push shady offers.
  5. Saturation of Newbies – Threads get flooded with beginners who either ask bad questions or regurgitate useless advice.
If you're looking for solid advice, stick to well-respected members, verified sellers, or go off-platform for real connections.

I lowkey agreed with OP but this is a great answer to it. I do feel like some people intentionally gatekeep tho, for sure.

If I am selling proxies (which I am), it would be against the rules to promote my service outside marketplace or wtb section therefore that will be my first directions, go to marketplace or wtb section.

And good proxy seller is a super stupid request. Tell us:

What kind of proxies are you looking for?
What are your using of the proxies, what do you need it for?
Are you looking for long term?
Etc etc.

Ask proper questions and you'll get proper answers.

Technically, most people that are looking for providers end up olin the WTB section or the marketplace..
When newbie members are looking for something to buy, answering that way (WTB or MP) is useful because it technically directs them to where they can buy what they want *and* shows them how things work here on BHW.

If you're looking specifically for recommendations, the best thing to do is to make you you clearly say that in the OP, and report comments that send you to WTB or the MP for post count inflation (rule 3.5) and state that they commented without reading the OP.

Did anyone mention that you could simply go to the Proxies section in the Marketplace and read their useless reviews to make up a decision by yourself?
Or you prefer me to tell you which is the best proxy service of my best friend's proxy seller?

So let me ask a question. What's your solution? If this was your forum, how would you solve it?

While the meme is actually pretty funny, the point that might be missed is that the question in the OP of the meme is kind of dumb. No mention what kind of proxy needed or what the purpose is for. What answer are you really expecting?

These aren't the answers you wanted, but they're the answer you deserve.

I understand the spirit of knowledge sharing and helping others but there is always gonna be some level of gate keeping involved. No one is going to share their money making methods in detail. I have seen experienced members dropping little nuggets of knowledge here and there. You just have to be attentive enough to pick them up and connect the dots yourself.

Casually giving constructive criticism to a 1.5 million people there OP.

But on a serious note, selling, along with recommendations for commercial trades, belongs in the marketplace and most members of the forum know that, so whilst those comments might appear unhelpful, they’re just different ways of giving you the correct advise - post (or search in) the correct forum.

If we allowed service recommendations outside of the marketplace it would be open to too much abuse.

And to end on a positive note: I do love the comic strip of member stereotypes that you created; it really made me smile. Very creative.

This meme was hysterical hehehe but I honestly don't understand what your beef is op. Whats wrong with most of the answers given? Like whats wrong with checking out the marketplace for example? I mean if somebody recommends a particular provider what happens if they don't turn out to be good for you? What then?

Wouldn't you want the option of knowing where to look, reading the feedback and choosing your provider yourself?

I prefer the current situation than Reddit for example
Self promotion through multi accounts
If you're peeling off your eyes, you'll see it here too. Here is auto-recommending with self-pushing the BST through:
Ordered placed,
Trial received
Trial request
etc.

Ofc, this is allegedly, but in some cases, it's obvious.

Personally I have met a lot of not very serious people on BHW, some will say they do something and you contact them for the thing or ask for a suggestion, they will ghost you afterwards. The forum used to be better some years back with some guys truly sharing useful information. I don't know if it's just my own opinion

because
recommendation something also means
you trust it
you stake your rep on it
and lastly could also mean you use it.

Proxies... is something you actually don't want shared around.
The less users using it, the better.
You don't want other people dirty fingers all over them.

but above all
If we allowed service recommendations outside of the marketplace it would be open to too much abuse.
I personally have been warned previously before on "sharing" recommendations so regardless whether it was my own product/service or not.
Best to avoid it :)
