    This is frustrating!
I have 3 terms in my Title tag and Google is showing only the second one on the search results page.
And, they are not even showing my Description tag in the SERPs.
They are pulling out the 1st line of content and showing that for the Description!
Anyone know why this is happening?

Google is not even ranking the proper pages of my sites for the searched keywords.

No wonder my rankings went down.

Not really sure what G is doing at the moment.

Google have been doing this since July 2011 (here is an article covering it
    Code:
    [URL]http://www.seroundtable.com/google-title-tag-13704.html[/URL]
) - I am surprised more people haven't been hit by this. They can change the title and meta to display what the deem to be the most relevant result based on the KW searched.

As Factionwars said above, you can include the noodp tag, and maybe even the noydir tag - although these don't always get honored.

The short of it, if Google are changing your titles, then your original title and the onpage content don't seem to add up in their eyes - maybe you should look at tweaking the content slightly or even split testing.

    Hope this helps.

Yes, Google has been doing this for some time now... if they think there is a better title or description of your page then you gave it, they will simply change it to what they think is better. Annoying, yes... but it is beginning to happen more and more...
