Why is Adobe showing up as one of competitors' external links on SEOQuake?

Trying to figure out what tactic they are using. Watermarking perhaps?

    The Adobe link: /go/getflashplayer

For a few weeks, up until today, when searching for *competitor name*, the page description in the search results said something like "you have to download Adobe flash to view this webpage". Nowhere on the page is Adobe mentioned when doing a quick ctrl+f.

Another SEO tool lists a Microsoft Office link as one of their external links.

This company consistently ranks higher than us on search engines with our keywords, despite their drastically lower sales compared to us (about 10%). They do have a higher count of external links, but few have high page ranks... besides these two links. We have better on-page optimization according to every SEO tool I've used.

Is this some major black hat SEO (their pageviews are MUCH lower than ours) or do their higher count of crappy external links really make that much of a difference??
