Why I got PR 2 and How

Hello,

I am really confused, my website is only 2 months Old and I dont even have any backlink. Now my website homepage is PR2, 2 internal pages has PR1.

Now I wanted to understand that is it possible to get PR without any backlink, because after reading so many posts, forum threads, articles I was under impression that PR can only be achieved by backlinks.

Well I just checked again on google with

link:sitename and it shows me 1 link which is a CL post. I am not sure where you got 30 backlinks but again is it mean 30 backlinks are enough for PR2 ?
 
every page indexed can have a different page rank. 10 is the highest, so your home page is higher than your others, so i don't see the problem?
also, page rank is determined by other things besides backlinks

My intention is very much clear ... I actually wanted to know that for PR "Backlinks" are important or "Quality Content" is ok to get PR.

Question about we people discuss about backlinks alot and we people always try to get it more n more as much possible. But is it something that without quality link only quality content is more than enough to get some PR

eskimo, I very much agree with this, however, I am concerned about so many articles, posts saying "backlinks, backlinks, backlinks" to get PR. But i dont have any link yet how I got PR2.

Now i am feeling onpage seo is the only good thing to get you some PR. No point running after backlinks.
 
On-page SEO does not influence page rank, only backlinks and internal links. But, Google is quite open about the number of backlinks they report when you carry out a "link:domain" search, or what you get reported in webmaster tools if you use that, are just a "selection" of the backlinks Google is aware of - which is pretty lame. How they decide what to show and what to hide remains a mystery. Webmaster tools usually shows more backlinks than the link: search operator.

We do not evaluate pagerank frnd.. google does and one of the dead blog I own has pagerank 0 despite 400 backlinks.. reason - Not updating anything..

Don't update your website for sometime like around 2-3 months and you will be back to 0.. google loves blog which keeps updating frequently..

I have had a website that was new and started out as a PR2. It is possible to have the PR you discuss as backlinks are only one equation that Google uses to assess pagerank.

Do not try and figure out what G is up to and what mathematical crap they use to figure PR because they will drive you nuts.

Oh, one more thing -- the site that I have which started out as a PR2 with ZERO backlinks is now a PR0 and has over 100 backlinks - You see, G be crazy and confusing as hell! :confused:
 
Don't focus on the PR, focus on monetizing your site, the traffic, and the money. If you want to sell the site then get an auto hits bot , kick the PR in a week and sell it on sitepoint.

I wish I had ur luck, One of my domains dropped from a PR5 to PR1. Trust this to happen on a White-Hat website. But thee sh*t happens! :)

:O ; that is something sad :(

well all I am trying to figure out hows that happened so I will do the same thing to get better PR on my other websites.

Also, which is the best place to sell a website

These programs should help. Some will generate traffic to CPA offers, others will increase page rank and a few backlinks, the second program will help webmasters see your page which should generate some backlinks. Pearl or should l say Amit Ganotra after looking at your website, l think its a clever marketing ploy to ask the members about how you ot your pr2, at least you have plenty of people visiting your website and no doubt some take up of your services . clever
 
Well, in Yahoo site explorer I can see you have 52 backlinks and 24 pages of your site indexed. Are you now trying to boost your alexa by using this trick ?

Im a complete idiot when it comes to SEO... ive read up quite a bit on google.. but after reading some of the posts here I think its fair to say I know a great deal less then i thought!!

Well, Amit is our project leader, I am on of his team member :) and i am not interested in playing games to market my website. My question is genuine I was never expecting that I will get PR2 so fast in 2 months. That is thing I am confused with, because i just worked on website not started link building process yet.
