All marketers online fail for one reason:

    THE ULTIMATE LETDOWN.

For some reason, everyone who fails at online marketing becomes a victim of the ultimate letdown. The ultimate letdown is the process of a person who has become interested in online marketing giving up upon the realization online money requires not work=reward, but work= knowledge, and then knowledge= reward.

The more ebooks you buy with someone saying what I say on forums for the heck of it, the more you'll come to realize, the key to online marketing, particularly "blackhat"(ways to get around the system) marketing is focused on your ability to target sales. BTW, in my opinion, many white hat techniques are far more shady in many aspects then black hat techniques, but I have my own outlook on that.

Whether you want to pretend your a sniper or a harpooner.... The whole point of online marketing is locking onto your target. I can't over emphasis this. You must target your sales.

First, decide on something people want(I personally choose high end products so I can bring in more commision, plus the more you sell, the higher the commisions and bonus's go). Post somewhere people go, make it worth their time. Think to yourself... would you want that? do you know anybody who would?

The best way to succeed is to relate yourself with a product you'd want. You'd be suprised at the options.

Then you'll want to locate others who will want this product.

There is NO greater way to make money online then direct targetted traffic coming to you.
You'll want to have people coming to you.

    Thats what I know.

One of the biggest reasons why people fail at making money online is because they are not patient. Money usually doesnt come instantly unless you plan for it.
Nobody around here i see that plans out before they strike, i usually give my projects a full brainstorm, grab a notepad and write everything down, even draw sometimes, but most people do fail because they give up
Just my 2cents DO NOT GIVE UP

The reason most people fail is because of poor marketing, and their product, service is poor.

I think most people fail because they
start backward that is, they start with
the product before looking at what the
    market want.

Also... most people don't have a well
defined plan, as the saying goes, If you
don't plan then by default you plan to fail

Planning is the key, a lot of planning, profound, taking into account all aspects, thinking for the future, not looking for quick cash or short money, being able to invest in something that is worth.... and in the same time some blackhat techniques to bring you fast and quick money of course.

What you say CEZAR is true and
that's why you must have passion.
This is the only thing that will
push you on when you don't see
    results.

Agree with Harro totally, i.e. Planning is THE key to success.

Remember the famous quote - "if you fail to plan, you plan to fail".

Thanks to everyone who posted or will and particularly to cashsalute for starting this thread.

I have worked diligently for the last 3 months to accomplish something I have never succeeded at - a steady maybe not stable but a resemblance of a steady income and I have failed.

I don't want to hijack this thread but I will regroup and go forward.

As every has said planning is key, but you must also take action and not just sit on the fence. Read as much as you can then take actions to reach your goal.

I have been "failing" because I get a good thing going, then sell it for some quick bucks. You need to look long-term and never stop enhancing what you have.

I like to do one thing for each of my websites a night. If it is getting more links, writing an article, whatever, but I am always doing something to my sites.

Agreed with cashsalute completely. Most people think that "online = easy money", which is not the case. You still have to work hard and put in lots of hours to become successful online.

    That...is so spot on.

You can work work work work work and get nothing, and there is no realm in the "real world" where that is the case. Only online can you work and try things and keep failing and call that a success. It's actually very cool.

When you finally get it and understand how things work, how to keep on top of new developments, and how profits are generated...Please let me know how that feels...I'm still working (read:failing but learning!)
