A lot of the hype comes from the idea that these bots represent how search engines and AI systems are evolving, not because the bots themselves directly boost rankings.
People pay attention to Clawbot / Moltbot mainly because they’re often associated with AI crawlers, data collection, or large-scale content analysis, which hints at where indexing and retrieval might be heading.
That said, I think some of the excitement is overblown. Seeing a new bot in logs doesn’t automatically mean ranking gains or losses. What still matters more is whether your site is:
