So the king of search engines is offcourse, the big G. We "google" anything we are looking for and chances are you'll be finding it unless its something along the lines of discount prices on area 51 alien bodies? .. But call me being at the height of my obsession but why don't we try to "bing" it for a couple of days. I am sure one the reason guys at the Microsoft decided to change the name of their search engine to something like this so it can be used in catch phrases just like Google!

Just for fun sake, I tried making my regular queries at bing and found that the results were as useful as that for google. I never hear the term "bing it".

So next time, whenever I feel the need to ask someone to go search the internet. I'll be asking him to "bing it". This is possibly one of the lowest and wierdest thread you must've seen in a while but still. Lets try it for a couple of days?

The trouble is I use Google to find Bing - Until the day its the way round I sort of think whats the point

Tell ya what, I'm away for a couple days but on Sunday/Monday ill only use Bing just for you ;)

Why don't we Bing-it?

Because they only have a 12% share of the search market?

And sometimes their searche returns are just damn quirky.

@bertbaby .. Maybe the results can sometimes get a little bit quirky, but that can be because they didnt decide to steal Rankdex's idea and made a massive search engine of their own out of it.

And if you do not know about Rankdex's story, Bing it! :D

@dansomers ... Welcome to the bing side lol

There are people out there binging it on a regular basis as I get a fair amount of traffic to my sites from bing.

As an aside, I own 2 Japanese Chin dogs... one named Google and the other guy named Bing.

@BassTrackerBoats .. I get the wackiest ideas when I am drunk .. and if you are as crazy as me then get your dogs to go find an object for you and let us know which one managed to find it first lol ;)

I like that idea... they nap for the next couple of hours but after they wake up, I'll run that experiment and report back in this post.

I actually don't mind bing, they've implimented Wolfram-Alpha into their searches. Pretty cool shit.

I did Google them, I mean Binged them and it sounds like another Xerox PARC story. Unfortunately, the tech industry is littered with the skeletons of forgotten pioneers.

Actually, I already do!

Me, too. I start my searches with Bing, and if I don't find what I want, I try it in Google. More often than not, though, Bing delivers. The only problem with it right now is that it's slow to index, and it doesn't have as many pages indexed as Google does. One time recently, I did a search for a combination of individual words, each one in quotes (like "word1"+"word2"+"word3"), and Bing literally had only four results, while the same query in Google gave hundreds of results.

Do you work for Microsoft?

lol :)

Google is just so basic, simple and just so easy. I don't know why everyone has an obsession with G?

Strange.

I'd consider binging it, but they hate me. Yaho* and G love me. When they show me some love, I'll reconsider.

msn has definately improved. its the underdog i think now... ive never seen so many ppl cap on apple like john stewart and steven cobart, south park, futurama... any supporters for windows might choose to switch?? its like picking a religion
