It seems to me that every time someone comes along with the next best offering to this forum someone will eventually ask the simplest, yet most important, question: Can you prove it.

Yet I rarely see any proof given. Usually the response to this question is one of hostility and name calling. This will continue until the thread eventually dies a natural death.

Every person here needs to keep a few things in mind when buying the next world beating sogtware or ebook from someone here or anywhere on the internet:
    * "If its too good to be true then it probably is,"
    * "If its so good why are the selling it?"
    * If they offer no evidence of its effectiveness then that gives some indication of their character (HINT: You probably dont want to give them your money)

Milligan, you are absolutely right about offerings and proof and more specifically in this forum. Some will remember the day I entered this forum and why I came in here the first place. It was because of the very thing you speak of.

Now some can refer to me as an Ahole, stuckup, dictator, social issues, whatever they want to call it. The truth of the matter is that I am now a Moderator because I do not, and will not stand for that type of stuff here in this forum and neither will Dave or Luther13z. I will do my best to keep my hostility in check, but I have already gave a warning that if it gets tried in here, and I sniff bullshit, I am not going to go easy. I will personally get with the OP and get to the bottom of it fast.

A few things I use in my mind when I see such a post.
Has the person ever shown proof of income? Did they only show proof when they were pushing something? Does this person contribute in a manner that is helpful to others or only them?

I would like to announce you that there are a lot of guys here keeping an eye on every one trying to promote something, so be assured that the situation is under control. Usually, after one page or two of replies you can realize whether the offer is legit or not, but do not rush into paying immediately for the offer.

Depends on what you mean by proof. Some people offer forms of proof when they sell things, and social proof (aka testimonials) are very common. What you won't see is people giving you the URL of their latest successful project, it'd be dumb to give that kind of information away.

    Uhh well,

I didn't install the iTrader script. I would have not have said
that either. I think it either comes with the forum software
or Dave installed it. I may have said to start using it.

But I know what you mean, yea it needs to be utilized and we are
going to encourage as we roll forth.

Who needs proof when you just have a good refund policy that you actually enforce. :p

Thanks for the replies fellas. Its good to see that this issue is a priority of the mods here.

I may have gained the wrong impression of this forum as I started here when things were a bit touchy due to the spammer23 thing. The posts I randomly read seemed to have a pitch from soemone with only a few posts who then soon disappeared. Now that I am digging deeper and starting to participate I am seeing a different side.

Each forum has an individual character and since I have only been active on 1forum to this point I was used to the atmosphere there.

I suppose getting used to a new forum is like getting to know a person. First impressions are important but when you keep digging you might be suprised what you find.
