Why Does The Search Work So Poorly?

I have enjoyed black hat world so much, and have joined in a good bit. But what is up with the search engine? In general, it does not seem to provide good results at all. I end up using a site:blackhatworld.com google search which seems much better. I can search for a thread using the exact subject name and it does not show up. Why? This is the most frustrating thing about BHW, imho. Is it broken? Why does this happen? This has been a major annoyance for a long time. Can it ever get better?

Its the standard search feature for vBulletin, which is one of the most popular forum scripts out there. Chances are it won't get much better, it is the way it is...

I used to think the same thing ,I hated the search feature until someone pointed out you need to use the 'advanced search' option.Then it's all sweet---search titles only

I don't see any problem with the search feature,and always find what i need in a matter of seconds.

Yup, shabang is correct. Once you learn to use the advanced search, you can zero right in on your results.

I too used to get extremely frustrated with the search box but now, I'm like a smart bomb on a laser beam!
