Why does nearly EVERY ClickBank product have a page like this?

Clickbank just posted a new blog post on their homepage, featuring some random book about health and energy. I'm just wondering because I've seen a truckload of CB products including most of the big "high gravity" ones do this as well.

They have a massive long-ass page that takes virtually forever to read and it's full of a bunch of bs and "CLICK HERE NOW!" buttons. Hopefully you guys know what I'm talking about because I don't believe I can post links.

Now.. this probably goes without say- I guess it converts really well? A whole long ass page of hyped up mumbo jumbo?

Because quite frankly, I would never ever in my life purchase one of these products if they have a massive sales page like that. But do they really work that god damn well? They just seem so scammy, whether or not the product is good or not.

Would I do just as well with promoting a product without one of those crazy pages? ..

By this I mean could I not just have a regular landing page that isn't 20,000 words long? ..

    Hmm

My theory is that it limits the users action which would increase conversion. Plus your only trying to sell one thing so you should really only need one page. At most for software sites they only have like 5 pages right? So why would a clickbank product need something like that.

I see that a lot, but the CB products that convert well for me are the ones with video... sometimes long ass video. I'm sure you could do just as well with a short sales letter. Would have to test both for your target audience to see which one works better.

Well to be quite honest, I feel as if the ONLY people these pages would 'convert' are older folks. People with less tech-savvy intellect and wit. A less open mind.

They look so old-school salesworthy, I can't f***ing believe they sell so much. I feel as if younger folks can easily detect the 'scammy' 'salesperson' vibe from ANY of these sites.

    Meh.

Because ClickBank is aimed at stupid people, and if you repeat the same old shite to stupid people over and over and over again, they believe it.

Are you saying products shouldn't be promoted on ClickBank if it's targeted towards upper-class intelligent individuals? How about a mixture of both that and stupid people?

    Just a question.

Intelligent people can see that when something is repeated over and over again, it is a shit sales pitch. There are far better things to sell people online, than the crap you find on ClickBank.

Well the reason I ask is because I intend on being a future vendor. I have absolutely NO intentions of selling ANYTHING from ClickBank's current vendors, as personally, I think they're 90% trash. Perhaps you could enlighten me with a different advertising platform for affiliates, man?

I actually wrote an article a few months ago about choosing a Clickbank product to promote where I told people to avoid Clickbank products that use a sales page that looks like it was made in 1999. I even created joke landing page in Blogger as an example (it only took me 10 minutes to make). There are actually 4 reasons why these landing pages are used by vendors

    1. They're easy to create. Some vendors are so excited to get their product out there that they focus entirely on the product and not so much on the landing page.
    2. They're cheap to create. Some vendors just do not have the funds (initially) to create a fancy landing page.
    3. They converted well at one point in time. You know how there are some people who still spam emails with methods that are obsolete?
    4. They don't know any better. Some of them are new to this and do not have the knowledge and experience to know how to create a proper landing page (CTA above the fold, use of specific colours and text, etcetera).
Do not be fooled, though. Not all Clickbank products that use those indefinitely vertical landing pages are bad products, just avoid the products that make unrealistic or erroneous claims (for example, "you're guaranteed to make $10,000 your first month").

I do not sell online, I promote bookies / casino games, so could not be much help to you. All I can say is if you want to see good conversions, gambling is where it is.

If you're here asking these questions, you're already off to a good start with becoming a successful vendor. You're right, there are many vendors who do not care about their products or affiliates, so Clickbank could use a few good vendors in their network.

Will give this a read, and thanks for the tips!

You know, I've always dreamed of having my own poker network. :)

This couldn't be more appreciated. A true motivational boost, just when I thought I couldn't possibly be more motivated! Cheers.

I've been seeing a lot of vendors copying the long video method, mostly it has been the hand drawing on a white board in black marker.

This actually converted well at one point because it was something new and it captured the average viewer's interest. These days, because it has been used and abused by so many Clickbank vendors who bought their videos from Fiverr, these videos no longer convert as well as they once did (although they're probably still better than those inifintely-scrolling vertical landing pages from 1999).

^ this ! Still haven't find a DECENT product page as I'm trying my luck with CB product affiliate

My guess is don't use vendor's product page they all seems scammy and s***** !
Make your own landing page and make it to to point ! few eye candies and basic information nothing more nothing less.

Besides I have learned some few things about better CTR well it works for most of traffic but real sales are still paint in the ass to get.

I noticed that some high gravity products have their websites designed more like blog, or normal website.

But other than that, it is "monkey see monkey do" approach. People are "inspired" by others when doing their own product.
