Why do people write .................................... after every sentence?

I've never seen someone I know IRL do this, but especially on this forum I see it a lot.

If I write '......' myself I mean something like *facepalm*
Here is an example of recent posts from one person

I agree it's pretty annoying. The only thing I can think of..... is a pause when thinking out loud. Not sure the sense of doing it in a text format but maybe it adds to the convo for them.
