Why do instagram shoutout pages typically get deleted after 100k followers?

Are instagram shout out pages against TOS for IG? I never thought it was but it seems whenever an account goes over 100k and it is shoutout related it disappears, and when it reappears it says "account was deleted, let's get it back up guys!"

Just wondering if they are worried about selling shoutouts or like its against the rules, or just involves spam and IG is not for it.

Let me know, any feedback is appreciated.

Maybe its because more people report them as their following grows, I dont think its against the ToS tho

Or it could be that other shady behavior got them deleted

They were probably reported by their followers for spamming and got banned.

Yes, it does seem that all social networks are against people using them freely to make money. It makes sense really I guess, it's business after all.

If you were paying the overheads to run a service and some were using it to make money from then wouldn't you want to either stop them or find a way to charge them? Erm, Facebook?

it does seem like the higher the follower count, the lighter they tread as far as shoutouts go. i've seen some accounts that advertise the rate they charge per post.. while others will just leave an email address and the email conversations look like a drug deal.

It would make more sense to repurpose or sell the account at that point

Umm, no? If you have an account free of bans do you know how many possibilities you have after having a large legitimate following? Hello free marketing 101.

It would be because they are shoutout pages much in their account, so people might reporting them. Followers basically need images related to account this is why they followed you to keep updating with the account.

    Thanks

If you openly sell shoutouts you are more likely to get banned or reported

If you want to sell shoutouts and your page is popular, most companies will approach you. I have page with 30k followers selling mens clothing and every month i get emails to do shoutouts by companies

What page do you own ?

I am thinking that is the best approach. Like a simply "For Inquiries:[email protected]" or even just having an email or a kik in the bio and that is it. That to me would make the most sense for keeping the account alive and generating income.

I have a few pages, I mostly run twitters, but I am getting interested in the instagram game, so I have been looking into it as well. Which, coincidentally, has allowed this question to ensue.
