My programming teacher just had a baby and he barely gets any sleep these days. Our class is at 1 pm but he was delayed until 1:13. Now, traditionally, if the professor doesn't show up for 15 minutes, all of the students can leave. The whole room was thick with anticipation for a free class period and so I did the only thing that came naturally to me: I got up, walked out of the classroom to my teacher's office and reminded him he had class right now (he thought it was at 2pm). When I came back to the classroom before him, everyone was staring at me. I could barely contain my mirth as I told them that the teacher was coming. My defense? "I'm paying $200 a class," I said "apologetically". Their piercing gaze rapidly grew in hatred and I couldn't help but grin as I told them "Don't worry, you'll get over it." Some laughed, others grew a bit more angry. The thing that worries me though is that I really didn't do it because I'm paying out of my ass in student loans or that the teacher would know that we knew he was still in his office, didn't alert him and would punish us. No, the real reason is that I got a kick out of being an asshole and screwing with many people at the same time. I don't know why, maybe there's something wrong with me. Of course I'd never really hurt them.
