If I have some web 2.0 sites that are already indexed in Google, and I create backlinks to my main site from these web 2.0's, as these are already indexed by Google, shouldn't my backlinks to my main site automatically get indexed in say a month or so?

Will the links be on an already indexed page of your web 2.0?

If yes: Don't worry about indexer
If no: The page you built (the link on) isn't counting to the search engine, thus it doesn't count the link you sent from your page

You don't have to use it. Sites are getting indexed really slow these days and I still didn't find any good indexed that actually work. But they should index in a month. Keep building links to see what happens. If they don't index, try with indexer.

If the page I build the link on is new and not counting to the search engine, I could link to the new page within my site's sitemap and then Google will index it the newly built page, am I correct?

To have an indexer is a way for Google to know about your site. Google needs a path to crawl your site. The problem is newly created Web 2.0 properties have no link from the existing Web 2.0 sites. For example you have a tumblr let’s say abcxyz.tumblr.com. Since there is no link from tumblr.com (an already indexed site) to your tumblr site so Google will not now about your site. So you’ll need to let Google know that. There are two ways to index your link: first is to create a lot of tier 2 backlinks, second is to use indexers.

I use both. From my experience, currently elite link indexer and express indexer work quite well for unique content. Although keep in mind that nowadays it would take more than 1 week to 1 month for all your links to be indexed.
