Why do I get so sleepy whenever I have to work or learn?

It's like as long as I'm doing something that I want to do I'm fine . . . wide awake alert focused. The second it's time to learn or read or do work (I'm a legal assistant) I get instantly sleepy literally falling asleep @ my desk. I'm in training with a group at work and OMG I can't even stay awake when the instructor (my boss) is 2 feet away. I'm yawning and nodding off. It's so embarrassing and so annoying and I'm scared I'll get fired. At my old job I was known for falling asleep at my desk. I dont want that to happen again. I used to think it was my sleep apnea but, IT ONLY HAPPENS WHEN I'M BORED OR SUPPOSED TO BE WORKING!. Whats going on?

Your bored of the work? It's no interest to you.

You have to make it more interesting, take change of a project or something, you have to lead really... or else you'll have no interest in it.

    I'm the same way sometimes.

    Maybe it's your environment too.

Thanks everyone for your comments. This really sucks man, i feel so handicapped.
People think it's just laziness buts it's really not, I'll look into getting tested for ADD and getting some adderall.

You are probably not sleeping properly. This used to happen to me. Just make sure you get 8 hours of sleep and keep a strict schedule. For instance, go to sleep at 11 pm every night and wake up at 7 am every morning...but make sure you get up! Maybe the first nights you will have trouble going to sleep at 11 but after a few days of waking up early in the morning(at 7 am) then you will be forced to fall asleep early. This is what I did and it worked. I no longer felt sleepy at work. Just follow a strict sleeping schedule and get 8 hours of sleep and the problem is solved.
