Why can't I Re-Check some old torrents to seed them again?

I don't know about how it should work, but from my past experience this used to work just fine. Let's say I was used to seed a torrent I created and after 2-3 months, I my computer blows up and all I can save is the HDD. So, I moved all the old torrents to a new VPS, and now when I am trying add them again in uTorrent and click Re-Check it doesn't work anymore.

Like re-checking the torrent file and see that I already have the content, so that it can show 100% and seeding again. It used to work in the past when I had a similar problem, but now it doesn't anymore and I know I'm missing something. For the torrents I already have, the Re-Check option works, yet for those old ones, nothing happens.

    What am I missing?

Fixed that just by simply trying it with BotComet instead of uTorrent. Anyway, as I said that the torrents are old, I was thinking if I should add new trackers and update them with those. And I never understood the 1/34 seed/peers part. Why it doesn't upload if there are already a bunch trying to get the file. However, I know that most of the time the stats are not correct or accurate.

check the path of the directories, if you have a fresh install, utorrent sets itself to default, so you may don't have the files in their appropriate place to perform a recheck or the letter of the drive has been changed etc.
try to download the .torrent files from the tracker again

Thanks. That was the problem I saw that utorrent wasn't able to correct although I set it up. BitComet works, but now I have my other problem :)

Are you connectable? It's also possible that those "leechers" are only grabbing parts of the file (like one episode out of a series for instance) and they'll still show as leechers on the tracker.
